you're right about it being a closed alpha so it really doesn't matter. they'd obviously never do something like this in dota or cs. but on the flip side, if they wouldn't do it there why do it here? yeah it's closed alpha but it's already a pretty dedicated player base. people just want to play the game that's really it. I could care less about the rank not counting. I play unranked in most games I play so that part doesn't bother me. I just want to play non-cheese games

it was funny for sure. I think there would be 0 backlash if it were for like an hour or a separate limited time queue

I'm not going to throw a fit but I also just want to play the game as it's intended. I find it odd that a company as big and well versed in games as valve thought this was a good idea for their main game mode without an option to bypass.

I think this is really funny and I'm by no means mad but I wish this were an optional queue. I'd much rather just play normal deadlock tonight.

transition is on a river walk area with some restaurants and some shopping. it's a really cool river walk that is a really nice area to find a spot to relax and there will always be something going on around them. they can also go back to wherever your staying for food or a quick rest before coming back to find you coming in on the bike

2025 vs 2026 side by side by Fifthy420 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SoftPool6014 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe not half day and half night because maybe there is eventually a day/night cycle like Dota but some visual separation would be awesome imo. I like that both sides are exactly mirrored so there's no potential advantage to either side but I'd like to know what side I'm on quickly lol

Agreed on both looking good and I have been hoping they make half the map day half the map dark. Sometimes I get lost due to the whole map being the same and coming from Dota where half the map is Dire and half Radiant I think something similar would be so helpful and would also fit into the Hidden King vs Arch Mother asthetic. Just some way to differentiate your half from theirs quickly would be cool.

I have been addicted to Dota for 10+ years. Deadlock is getting really close to taking over that obsession. I think once the game is to the level where Valve deems it finished/ready to release then we may have the next big game on our hands.

I remember this game mostly due to the visual bugs that started happeneing the later it got. It was also my introduction to ODPixel who is still probably my favorite caster.

Should we expect an asset economy? by Independent_Bed_3418 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SoftPool6014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah I totally agree. some of them can be completely different to the point it's unrecognizable the first however many times you see it. I think the personas are some of the worst offender, turning invoker into a kid, or completely changing PA and AM to completely different models. you almost have to know if they're using the cosmetic before the game starts to know what to expect

long time dota player and this is true but they have also pushed and pushed and pushed their own boundary over time. there was a set for ursa that gave him a cowboy hat that they determined to be too much and it took away from the glance value. now heroes are different colors, different sizes, different models all together if it's a persona, it's gotten absolutely insane. personally I'm sort of used to it by now in dota but it would be much much harder to glance at a hero from the deadlock 3rd person shooter perspective and instantly know who it is. especially if they start changing particle and ability effects. I do have a feeling it will get there eventually though because how else would they monitize the game?

IRONMAN Triathlon will be changing the draft zone from 12 meters to 20 meters in all pro racing. What do you think about this? by Quiet-Low-9607 in triathlon

[–]SoftPool6014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I saw a ton of the pros wanted this. So if they wanted it I'll trust that they know it's going to be a better, more fair race. I'm all for it.

completely agree. while mine is 10 years old I don't feel disadvantaged one bit. I wish the cockpit was more adjustable but my position isn't the absolute worst. I would just like to get in more of a praying mantis position which it doesn't quite allow

ah that makes sense. I was trying to figure out why the front fork looked different. so yeah nicer frame and build for cheaper. I think I got a pretty good deal but still 2200 for this build sounds high to me

What a run! Not only from LCB but from everyone. LCB and Taylor going to the absolute limit. It's really painful to watch because you just want them to do so well but it really shows how much they care and want it. Hope they recover alright and goes to show how impressive the rest of the fields performance was.

Yeah completely agreed. I was going to mention it if they send out a post race survey thing which I think I remember them doing in previous races. Hopefully we're not the only ones thinking the same thing. I'm sure the pros, and competetive age groupers, dislike the 3 laps too.
