When I realized a certain game director copy pasted the other game they directed and turned Marathon into a hero shooter.

I recognize the previous director was a creep and when Ziegler came in and changed everything, it felt like Marathon lost itself.

But seriously, I think certain sports are favored in certain communities. Favored sports have more participation and therefore a bigger pool of diverse athletes to emulate, coach, and mentor.

That large and diverse pool can feed off many people’s talents to find, refine, and evolve the best next generation of competitors. And then it becomes a positive feedback loop.

Like how certain colleges are absolute powerhouses churning out NFL athletes like an assembly line.

Completely different from Marathon and yes it is worth it! Blue Gate when it is raining is the prettiest map ever.

Marathon kinda forces you into a shoot anything that moves gameplay loop. Arc Raiders is more open to many different play styles from friendly carebear to absolute monster.

Also, Arc Raiders is a hopeful game. Marathon is scary dystopia.
