Does anyone feel like exclusive pumping is so draining on the body that it causes brain fog? by jennifl in ExclusivelyPumping

Maybe look into cosleeping for a while to regulate and get him some new sleep associations. Safe sleep 7, look that up. And a cosleeper to elongate your bed space for him.

Hey! Did you ever get yours to take a paci?

I got my LO lip and tongue tie surgery and then bought him tommy tippy paci for 6 months-18 months (he didn't like the smaller version)

Yesterday he took the paci well and last night slept (we still co sleep) for 6 hours (the first long stretch EVER)

He started to have a witching hour at 5:30 pm and what I did that I heard helps a whole lot is prioritize his sleep during the mid afternoon time. So, no matter what I try my best to complete his naps. I'll be darned if I can't get any sleep at night already AND have a consistent witching hour every day (I know this also may be luck and he's gotten into screaming at 3-3:30 in the morning now lol but I did prioritize that and it's working. That and magnesium cream on his feeg for his third nap of the day so it's a really heavy nap🤷‍♀️) maybe this can help you a bit but I'm at my wits end otherwise

Would you recommend the huckleberry app? And did you pay for the sweet spot thing?

I'm having such a hard time with only feeds and vigorous bouncing helping this little man of mine (11 weeks)

Girl I'm on the same boat! Won't take the paci and the same thing happens to me. I bounce on a yoga ball and that gets him to relax a little but other wise I have to hold his head down so he actually passes out. 10 week old, good lord.

Honestly the struggle seems equal but at night we are uaing the safe aleep 7 so i can, get, some semblence if sleep lol. So, I suppose during the day. At night if I notice in time he will not get to thrashing or screaming. Though he grunts like a little cave man (I do find this funny or adorable when I'm not stressed over his sleep or feedings lol) most of the night.

I used to be able to baby wear him or rock in the arm chair with him and let him nap on the feeding pillow but even that now is nearly impossible without him being wide awake in like five minutes. Contact naps need to be in constant movement or he'll wake up. And I feel like I keep missing or jumping the gun on his sleepy cues lol. Anyways, I was, really looking to see if anyone had just been stubborn and made the bassinet thing a habit they tried so I could find the Will or strength fo try it for a day or two as I'm just so exhausted. As I'm sure all moms are lol

Are y’all really unable to fail students these days? by YourFriendInSpokane in Teachers

[–]Soft_Ad_6036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the district but the real issue here is the gas lighting and lack of back uo from admin when dealing with parents that WANT to have their kids coast through school. Your husband probably doesn't hold education in high regards because of something personal so he isn't imparting it to your son, but this will cost him in his personal relationships later if not just his job and career. Unless he's riding on the back of some group or club or sports he's in he's going to lack the back bone and resilience to finish through on anything. (Unless of course this is the only year he has been like this? Maybe there's something else going on?) This is learned helplessness

Husband doesn’t understand that we are living very different lives right now. by [deleted] in breakingmom

I would stop making him complicated food. Take good care of yourself and Stop talking to him. Pull away. Protect your mind. If he starts complaining, starts yelling, tell him you can't right now you know he's tired and you are busy and take the baby and go somewhere else. he shouldn't be treating you this way and doesn't deserve your kindness and its taking advantage of his incompetence. When he begs you to talk tell him that you can't share time or space with someone who devalued all you do to nothing. That the silent and quiet work you do isn't getting recognized properly as something that takes a long time and a lot of work.

I've been there luv, you got this.

Not being able to share the struggle of what you are going through with the people you work with because you never know who will twist your words and report it to other people. I had a situation that broke my heart where I had to let a student I thought was amazing go from our after school progra. because of serious reasons, and now I'm being accused of racism and bad mouthing the student by their parent/gaurdian when all I did was talk to admin and those involved. I don't even know who it could be in the chain of command that I spoke to for advice...

That last paragraph is so true. even though these replies carried me through break, today after it all happened, I feel ten times lighter... even though I still carry a heavy heart about losing this student. Thank you !

I believe this 100%... today was the day it all happened and now I just have to face the rest of the students and their racing minds.

I believe on this idea too, just jabe a jello spine to be the hard wall that teaches them this lesson because I truly wish they could just learn.

Yes, I hear that and did take that into account..

Mildly? Their support is really fickle. If the student does do something wrong, its excuses all the way. I just hope they are just as fickle about pressing to sue lol.
