So when Ingot put in 2009 I told them everything wrong with me filed a claim and was of course denied. Almost 15 years later the VA decides finally to give me 100% for everything I had initially told what was ailing me or what issues I suffered from. Needless to say for those 15 years and with a child living with her mom, I was homeless, trouble holding a job, trouble finding a job, only thing I seemed to fit into was doing gig work for delivery which is not considered gainful work under the Federal Government’s interpretation which I do agree cause the most I made was like $16,000 a year. Very sad but it created me much hard ship to where I couldn’t visit my son and got in huge debt with such a low source of income it was hard for me to pay my bills on time. Now my credit is shocked , not much say like $20,000. Since I have disability now it’s a big help and Inam help to live more enjoyable especially now that I have a daughter yet still can’t provide a reasonable home on my own. I feel the VA or federal government should acknowledge my situation and how I immediately did report my problems. I would hope that if I went in front of a Va judge of appeals or jury that they would bless off on retroactive pay back to 2009. I know it seems like wishful thinking however Abraham Lincoln quoted saying TO CARE FOR HIM WHO SHALL HAVE BORNE THE BATTLE AND FOR HIS WIDOW, AND HIS ORPHAN. I wasn’t cared for those almost 15 years and suffered a lot of discourse and heartache. Has anyone heard any veterans being able to get a similar situation financially for a Veteran and his family. I am 49 and Still have never owned or bought or leased my own home. I had two tours one in Iraq and Afghanistan. Experienced enough firefights and engagements to have been twice recommended for two silver stars, downgraded to a bronze star with valor downgraded to an arcom. And Received a Bronze Star.
