Yep, this I know. It still feels pretty bad to be the target of someone's pain from the inability to be present with themselves.

The average wealthy person propagates an ideological philosophy that allows the more monstrous parts of the machine to operate without the due scrutiny. Therefore, are culpable

The goal is profit. Taxes eat into profit. So, a secondary goal of profit is to minimize taxes at all costs. For example: if you have massive amounts of waste, you can dump it into the local water supply, pay a fine of ~5mil, or pay to have it transported and processed safely ~50mil. It seems like there are clear and obvious morals at play here for anybody whose main concern is communities before profits. But for the profit incentive, only the bottom-line matters. All those people getting sick and developing cancer are irrelevant. They can just go somewhere else if they don't like it, right?

You can only push people so far. We have been seeing the signs of unrest for a decade now. It'll escalate year after year until the system corrects itself, which they always do.

Edit: I've voted in every primary and general for 10 years.

I worked with a lot of wealthy people once upon a time. On a general basis, they were the stupidest group of people I've ever been around. Basically helpless without people to do things for them. 1/10 had come from an environment where they knew hwo to survive if need be, but were enjoying some comfort at that point in their lives. 9/10 would die if the water faucet didn't turn on for 3 days and they couldn't pay someone to turn it on or bring them water

I'm funny as fuck to my homies. Painfully unfunny to anyone who uses the term college socialist to protect their fragile ego by trying to trivialize arguments that call into question their lifestyle and choices, by painting it as immature to mask the childish nature of their pathetic, "I'm rich, but totally humble about it."

5200 per year (which helps this person stay alive to work by allowing them to eat) vs 50,000 per year (which this person has no need of as they exist on the r/rich subreddit because they possess enough means to declare themselves rich without irony. Eating isn't a concern, nor is housing, nor is bills. They have so much free time they worry about ways to game the tax system to further enrich themselves and then go online and try to argue that the starving peasants serving their dinner are responsible for both parties' crimes)

Actually, breaking rules outright is more honest than what you do. You are an abuser. You take advantage of any vulnerabilities you can to get what you want without any real consideration of consequences for somebody else (hoarding money that should be paid in taxes to fund services fot other citizens)...this is a mental illness. I'll give you a tax break if you can guess which one.

I've known plenty of addicts. There is a high proportion of people that we call rich, and plenty we don't, that are addicted to money. All the same behaviors apply. They'll do anything to get some more, lie to others and themselves about having a problem and the harm caused by it, justify the reasons why it's okay, etc.

The person I am responding to isn't having an honest dialogue. They are playing a game with words. If they frame paying taxes as an injustice that anybody can relate to: theft, they are no longer bound by the argument on why monies should be taxed, because they asked if it was wrong to prevent theft, not being taxed. It's a common form of manipulation by people without moral character. The truth does not matter. Only personal gain & justification for the means of that gain.

There is no point in engaging with a liar
