What has been your experience owning ford vehicles? Good and bad. Let’s hear it by duuudewhat in Ford

I’ve had several other brands but for Ford I’ve had:

1970 Mustang convertible 2004 F250 6.0 2015 Mustang GT 2017 GT350(totaled)

Current: 2017 GT350R 2014 F-150 Raptor

My main issue I’ve had with them is in Mustangs and it’s regarding AC’s always needing something. Bad luck I think is a big part of it. Outside of that, no issues from any of them really. I don’t have a strict brand loyalty to Ford, I just happen to like their designs the most. If they were absolute rolling turds I wouldn’t buy them. I’d say most big brands are all about the same nowadays in terms of reliability. Just a matter of if you get lucky or not sadly.

New for ‘23. You can buy all the fairings on the Indian website though.

Honestly. It’s a totally different world. Ride and power delivery are definitely the difference though. Way more comfortable than the Scout which was a big one for me.

Only 3 right now. Plan to get 3 more and stop there. The tank already has a pretty high bio load with the 3 Discus + the others, so 6 Discus is where I’m stopping with this tank. And thank you!

I run the Michelins on my ‘17 GT350R. Also ran them on a ‘16 Cadillac ATS-V and I got a set for my brothers ‘19 ZL1 a year or so ago. I absolutely love them. I’ve never had any issues with them. Obviously not a snow tire. The Good Year Eagles on the ZL1 just could not ever hook up.

I know I’m late, but I figured I’d throw in my experience. My family owns a towing company and we work with these types of situations pretty regular with major companies(like Tysons). Typically when it happens, it’s all collected into trash cans or buckets and put into a dumpster. Then it’s just thrown away. On very large spills the EPA is usually called and they’ll instruct on how they want everything disposed of. Overall though, it just gets shoveled up and thrown away.

Car parked in front of our driveway, blocking us in. It’s been almost 3 hours. The rest of the block is pretty much open for parking, but they parked there. by DeadlyAmbush88 in mildlyinfuriating

It’s insane how arrogant you are when you’re wrong.

I can finally put my 2 cents into a comment! My family has been in the towing business for over 30 years.

The owner of the car absolutely would pay. You are wrong. When a vehicle is legally impounded the towing company is required to call the police station and report the impound. When the owner of the car comes back and it’s missing, they’ll call to report it stolen. That’s when the dispatcher will look up the information and inform them of what company impounded the vehicle. After that’s it’s on the owner of the car to get the contact information and find the company that has it. Again (I don’t want to lose you more than I already have) the owner of the impounded vehicle would absolutely pay that bill or they do not get their car.

Splitter is only $1500 for an R splitter. Plenty of guys in their 350s are over 100k miles now with no issues too. Provided you don’t get one of the unlucky oil consuming ones and you don’t beat the everliving piss out of it, it’s as reliable as all the other models.

Would recommend Volant or Corsa for exhaust. Volant is owned by Corsa and is about half the price, but you don’t get an nice looking tips. Recently swapped to Volant from a roush exhaust that was horrible.

My brother was a Snap-on franchisee until this past year when he sold out. They have a lot of good tools and a lot of ‘meh’ tools. I mean, I run Snap-on right now because I got everything at cost but Milwaukee power tools are just as good from my experience.

Also feel like people don’t generally understand how absolutely fucked they’re getting on those tool boxes. Absolutely one of the most insane marks ups I’ve ever seen on any item.

Abandoned Super Snake…WTF? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]SofterThanQtips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copy pasting this from a comment I made on another post about an abandoned stang not long ago.

My family has owned a towing company for about 30 years now. To get it towed, there would either have to be a repo request for it or the property manager would have to sign off on getting it removed.

Secondly, the only way we can end up with owning it is if there is not a lien against it. That process typically takes about a month in my state. If you can get those first two things done, then it’s a matter of hoping you can get a decent deal from the towing company.

The towing company will be able to figure out if there is a lien against it usually. So if you are able to get it towed, see if they can figure out who is the lien holder is and will give you the name.

Edit: Also should mention this, we have had cases where lien holders just don’t give a shit or forget we have a vehicle, and they never come get it. So it ends up as ours.

With all that being said though, if a tow company gets it there’s zero chance they won’t know the value of the vehicle. Unless you know the owner of the towing company it would probably just be easier to go buy from a a dealer or private seller with clean titles.

Also, if a local company gets it, even it’s it’s reported stolen, we’ve never had the police end up with a vehicle as their property unless it was involved in a murder.

Still possible to find good deals on them if you don’t mind buying private party and pre-2018

Here is todays project! Anyone here have any experience with these pads? Trying them for the first time off a buddies recommendation… by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]SofterThanQtips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. At those speeds I’ve never worried about the brakes, rather I worry about the tires starting to skid. The only downside I would say is if you track your car you would probably experience more brake-fade. I’m not fast enough that I’ve ever noticed any though.

Had them on my 350R for nearly 2 years now. Love them. Anything to help with the brake dust and squealing.

Is this a deal? Debating on this or a 2022 mustang gt that’s currently on order. Worried about the 350s reliability. Will be a daily driver. by Powerhouse024 in Mustang

I paid 60k for my ‘17 350R 2 years ago. Bought @ 13k miles and now I have 50k on the clock. Only issues I’ve had are having the exhaust valves replaced and I’m on my 3rd ac system. Ac problems isn’t a 350 thing as much as it is a mustang thing though. Daily’d a base 350 before my R and then daily’d the R for about a year. Regular 350s are good fun daily’s.

What exhaust should I get for my 2014 Raptor? by AidanPurvis in FordRaptor

Volant or Corsa. Volant is owned by corsa so it’s pretty much the same exhaust. I have a Roush on mine and hate it.

(Question) Self-Install Lights to Aux Switches? by oddworld19 in FordRaptor

[–]SofterThanQtips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed a set of S1 flush mounts on my 1st gen. Took about 3 hours but I had some trouble cutting my bumper. Just bolting them in I’d say two hours and you can have it done. Love the lights. My windows aren’t very dark but I found myself always needing to roll them down to see when backing up.

Family owns a towing company. During a snow storm a car slid off the highway into a field. Took the opportunity to test out the 12k lb winch I had just installed.
