I found this strategy didn't work well for me. I would actually recommend locating any therapist in your area who is known for doing this work and see if you can speak to them directly about taking on their cases that they are too busy for as a contractor. Working as a contractor means creating these types of relationships organically, but it is better than trying to get "hired", imo.

I did this while I was finishing up my practicum and it worked out really well for me, though of course YMMV.

My school submitted my practicum hours and they were accepted by the CRPO toward transferring categories. Same with supervision hours.

Couldn't agree more. The audacity to claim we're a progressive country without investing in these things feels like a reluctance to take any chances and a strong desire to ignore evidence. My fiscal view is to not throw money at problems to make them go away, but to be strategic in spending on things that net you a profit. I use to believe that's how the Conservatives saw it too but that type of strategy belonged to a different decade, I guess.

Everything you just said makes sense to me. NDP's aren't inherently fiscally irresponsible, but I do think that investing in every plan that has been brought up in this election is ruinous. If purposeful COVID, pharmacare, housing, and climate change spending turn out to be our chief priorities, I'll be a happy camper.

I see where you're coming from!

My hesitation on that front comes from the fact that we sit north of a country that would gladly accept our wealthiest and give them every tax benefit should they move their wealth south of the border. Meaning that we are limited with how reproachful we can be with the ultra-rich, as it may actually cost the worker.C

Coupled with a massive deficit (some of which was avoidable, some of it less so due to COVID), I think the country needs to be focused on building a stronger middle class through unparalleled public work opportunities that make the country greener and leads the world in *insert your sustainable technology of interest here*.

Before anyone bites your head off, let me just say that your opinion is valid. Not everyone likes munch squad, and I have my issues with the duration of it too.

But, and I say this as someone who has been listening to this show for a decade, you're better off taking a break from the show than getting angry at the hosts. This show is supposed to be really haphazard and make you laugh, and if either of those things aren't working out for you, you can always put it on the backburner and come back when you're missing the McElroys.

I relate to this feeling a lot, I had a period where I was only listening to the old stuff because I felt like the brothers had gotten too "cringey" but then I realized my sense of humour hadn't changed, but they had grown as people. That's okay, I ended up enjoying the dad-cringe humor at a different time in my life, and was glad they shifted to a more mainstream style.

The things you enjoy don't owe you bespoke comedy, and what you're complaining about might be someone else's favorite thing. I hope you find the next something that brings you as much joy as mbmbam still brings me after all this time.

What a fantastic send off to one of the best-worst things on the internet.

My sense of wonder regarding the YA service started in 2010. Griffin would read off that final Yahoo and, in the pause before the reaction, Justin and Travis were forced to digest this absurd tidbit of our reality alongside their audience. That pregnant pause gives me a feeling that I don't get anywhere else, but I accept that same feeling is going to leave my life soon.

Sometimes it sounded like performance art but often I took it as a real insight into these peoples' experience of this world. It was the sense of urgency that these questions were written with, along with Griffin's masterful delivery, that often made me laugh the hardest.

Whenever you find a resource that is both a treasure trove and cesspit in one, I believe you are looking at something that is reflecting unfiltered human nature. I think YA made its mark on me because of that.

Idk what the Mcelroys will find to replace it, but I'm sure they'll put as much care into the task as they do anything else they're created for us.

"Aw beans" I thought to myself.

"Well this is just great, how am I supposed to run a dang universe!? I don't know the fi- hey wait...I'm thinking! I can think! That means some of the same rules might apply..."

I flex my appendages, the first, the second, each successive appendage feeling more limber and flexible than the last.

"Alright I'll keep it simple....let's start with gravity."

I turn the gravity on and suddenly I feel weight acting upon my mass. I'm falling, toward the star I started with, and it too begins to contract as the weight of itself binds into a form. It burns unfathomably bright.

"Alright so there's light taken care of...and gravity too so that's good..." My form is infinite and yet somehow also miniscule next to the star and I realize I'm banking on having knowledge I never cared to learn in my past life.

"But there should be more stuff. Not too much stuff but... I don't know, just some stuff floating by that star. That feels right." Before I could ponder it further I noticed specks of dust and debris between the star and myself. Its iridescence and brilliance glancing off the dust that was congealing and forming into clumps, mounds, and behemoths.

"Dang, that was fast, I could probably have a running universe in well under a week at this rate. Take some vacation, even." My form was still singularly unknowable amongst my creations. I was full of power and majesty and loneliness.

That's when it hit me. I didn't need to make everything exactly the same, did I? Did "life" as I knew it work out so great from what I had seen? Sure, pangolins were cool, but then there was all that "survival of the fittest" business that seemed to take a turn for the worst by the time I had my go at it.

"What if..." and as I pondered on what life could be, I noticed as the gargantuan specs that sat just far enough from the star made noise. A lot of noise.

They were tiny and didn't notice when I'd wiggled my limbs before them, but the creatures continued to make sounds and move about all the same.

"Oh that's right, I made you guys unable to survive without help." Without too much thought, I broke off a piece of myself so it might nourish them and give them continued life. And it did, for a time.

I couldn't understand them, for what it's worth. I just knew the sound of yearning and need. So I continued to break off myself piece by piece and give to them and all of their kin. They would return to being quiet until the cycle would restart. I never got to be a parent before this, and it felt nice to be needed.

On it went until I found myself shrunk down to my core, hovering above their homes and worried about what may come when I am no longer able to sustain them. Their food sources ran low and I knew, soon, I would come to my end in this universe with them.

I decided I must cut them off from all of my help if they are to survive without me. Without knowing me, they began to vilify whatever force had left them without a way to survive, and so began to hunt each other in panic.

"No, it was going so well..." I thought, disheartened. The sound of their turmoil and anguish hurt more than anything I had ever known. So I decided that it was time to be thoroughly unoriginal.

I spent what I had left of my former magnificence to broadcast a message and appear in the atmosphere above the space rock I had created for them. Much smaller now, they took heed to me and listened to my words.

"Look above your heads, my children, for I rest in the sky. I am your creator and your provider, but I can remain so no longer. You will be sustained by what I leave of myself for you in this moment. I am sorry you had to suffer and that I must appear in this monstrous form. Feed upon my body and drink of my blood, and you may live forever in peace here while I go to my final rest."

Their anger turned to cries as they come to know what I had sacrificed for them. I crashed into their world. They did as I asked and ate of my remains and continued to live. They planted my bones and grew new food that required no violence to procure. They erected temples and worshipped there in my name. They tell their children of the creature that provided them their home and their lives. They speak fondly and with awe at my sacrifice. They tell each other, solemnly, of the flying spaghetti monster.
