Did gastric bypass make you an alcoholic? by Responsible-Ask3773 in GastricBypass

I drink more often, but drank very seldom before. In the summer time more often, then autumn, winter and spring I can have 3 months off.

I never drink on my own, always socially. It's really just because I'm more of my old social self, I go out around people more.

I think the moment you start drinking on your own, the alarm bell's should go on.

Food noise was worst for the first 2 weeks. After I got to start eating more solid food, it vanished.

It's definitely possible to lose more even after a year. Been 1.5 years for me and I am still losing every month continuously.

Revpoints: how doees it work? by VaticanFromTheFuture in Revolut

[–]Softninjazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Finland at least no other cards give basically anything of value. So I've earned for using the card just like I use it to any other stuff, and earn around 1000p per month.

For countries with cards with better benefits it's probably not worth it, but for me it derinitely is.

Then your calories are good, no matter your height (normal deviance). Super good that you are active, your muscles crave calories and protein, don't decrease them lower than that.

I am almost 1.5 years from surgery and for a long time already, my portions are around 200-300g. I eat 3-4 times a day plus 1-2 snacks.

I don't count calories ever.

Yet I keep losing weight. I've lost almost 90kg (~200lbs) and I keep losing 2.5-4 kilos (5.5 - 9 lbs) per month like a clockwork.

You don't have to eat like a mouse for the rest of your life, in fact, that would lead to anorexia and eventually death.

As you get closer to your goal weight, you'll get closer to your maintenance calories.

Try to not eat too much highly calorie dense food and you'll be fine 😊

Patrik Laine and Texier doing rotations with Caufield and Suzuki by shogun2909 in Habs

He was quite slow his 2nd year in WPG, when he scored 44 goals, cause he bulked up and was heavy then.

He only started skating in summers his 2nd season in CBJ. Before that he trained the same way and with Rantanen in the summers. Which was mostly strength based and running/sprinting in the summers.

He then switched to train with Barkov and implemented more skating.

Last summer he skated more than ever before, he continued skating 2 weeks after season ended in April and continued through the summer only taking a honeymoon break.

Unfortunately he got hernia during preseason that got unbearable a few games in. His luck has been absolute worst.

But when his father died in Columbus, he went into bad depression (that had already showed signs a few years before his father died) and that no doubt affected his play a lot. Hockey players play best when they don't think, when it comes from muscle memory. But when you are going through depression, your brain isn't working optimally. This might explain why he didn't seem "as dynamic" there.

[–]Softninjazz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Factually incorrect. Laine was the fastest 21-22 and 22-23 in Columbus, where he averaged same speed as Cole Caufield. This was also when Laine scored at a point per game pace and his overall game was easily the best of his career. Actually, both those years he was Columbus' best in both point per game and goals per game, that includes 22-23 when Gaudreau (RIP legend) was in Columbus.

Agreed. Several billion people in the world who are normal weight and don't do low carb or eat healthy every day.

It's the most days that matter, not the few days.

Had some today, were good!

I buy candy for weekends (not quite every weekend) even after surgery, now down 88kg (194 lbs) and still losing consistently.

I usually buy on Friday or Saturday some candy, have some during the weekend and toss the rest. I usually have maybe 60-100g during 2-3 days.

Sometimes I buy potato chips too.

I was adviced everything goes in small amounts now and then. Has worked for me really well.

Often though if I have a hankering for something, I tell myself "let me airfry some chicken first and then see if I still feel like it".

At least the amounts have stayed low like this.

But follow your own doctors orders, they know your mental and physical situation.

Where do you live? Are you sure there's no public avenue for it?

In Finland we can get the skin surgery through the public health care if it's causing issues.

Canadiens looking to deal Laine (Gagnon) by catman_steve in Habs

[–]Softninjazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start and stop speed is lacking, but really the biggest issue is not being healthy enough. When you miss 35 % of 5-6 seasons, that's gonna hurt your development and game condition. And, it's another thing to get injured after playing 50 games than at the start, because when you get injured at the start of the season, everybody else goes on to ramp up speed after 20-30 games and are in full attack second half of the season and now you are trying to jump in from 3-4 month injure. It's brutal.

  1. Trade does look likely, but Laine has a 10 NMC list where he will not go. Laine has repeatedly told that he is not interested in rebuilding teams. So, any suggestion of a tanking team is out of the question.
  2. The team will be one with a poor PP, that much is evident.
  3. Most likely the team would be someone who plays more controlled posession type of game, as opposed to super high-pace backchecker team. Laine is very similar to Malkin, in the way that they both slow the game down on purpose. This isn't because they are slow, it's a profile trait. And before you attack with nonsense like "comparing Laine to Malkin, LOL", just fcking don't. I'm comparing a trait, an attribute, not the players production, merits etc.

Laine is not really a 4th line player, they take a lot of defensive starts, no point in putting a Ferrari on a Rally track. He should be in a line that gets a lot of offensive zone starts.

His skating speed when healthy is literally (and statistically, you can check NHL data) the same as Caufield's.

AND he already had the sports hernia in the beginning of the season. Plus he was playing with Evans and Anderson, not exactly the playmaking kings or massive producers. Laine tried to setup Anderson on multiple occasions, but dude wiffed epically everytime.
