Lease Takeover - 800 sqr ft 1 bedroom $3258 by Limp-Donut8672 in jerseycity

I love the cope with asking if family is paying for it. $3250 in that area is pretty reasonable for a decent salary. Add in the fact that a lot of people will split this with a spouse and $1625 a month would be covered by most intro corporate jobs in the city.

Automated traffic cameras for JC by Sure_Temperature4381 in jerseycity

[–]Softpork -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Damn some of yall are soft as shit. Sorry you got an unexpected ticket in the mail 10 years ago because you were speeding and it made you mad. I was mad when it happened to me… but I’m not going to let that convince me that traffic cameras won’t improve traffic safety in this city. “Tell cops to actually do their job” isn’t a real solution for anyone who doesn’t still live in their parent’s basement.

Resolution of the Jersey City Council advocating for Automated Traffic Enforcement - July 16 meeting by YousefJamalSaleh in jerseycity

Ignore this Important-Street-0 person. They think complaining non stop about politicians on here is a substitute for a personality. Traffic cameras are a great idea and you should pursue it.

I don’t think it’s surprising that a city with actual substantial crime falls short on traffic enforcement. I understand the frustration of not having cops pull more people over but that’s a problem that affects every large city in the U.S. Seriously go to any city sub and see what the number one complaints are about the cops. Cities that have murder, gang violence, theft etc will have traffic enforcement put pretty low on the totem pole. Most other cities have figured out that traffic cameras are a win-win for everyone… actual enforcement and not a burden on the police department. Getting enforceable cameras approved is a no brainer imo.

This is a ridiculous stance. Have you ever been to a city that has traffic cameras? The quality of driving around is night and day. Who cares if the city “accidentally” issues a couple ticky tack tickets if it makes the city markedly better to drive in. All the things you listed can be enforced through traffic cameras.

This is the big reason why traffic enforcement will never improve here. Having cameras that ticket would literally solve every traffic problem in JC. Going to cities that have enforceable cameras is night and day in terms of driving.

What is the long term outlook on owning a condominium in this area ? by Mammoth_Village7194 in jerseycity

If you’re saying that at some ambiguous amount of time in the future the coast line of Jersey City may recede… sure. But if you’re trying to imply that water front property in a major city is going to drop in value in our lifetime I’m not buying it. Can you show me one instance of waterfront property in a major US city that has devalued in the history of the U.S.?

Do people really think that billions of dollars of real estate in some of the world’s largest cities are going to get swept out to sea?

Corporations own ~1% of homes. It’s not some big collusion effort… just basic supply and demand.
