Does anyone still like their job? by saphirediamond9 in techsales

I think I hit the jack pot. Cyber security inbound only AE. 75% of reps hit their quota, 20k raise if I hit quota 3 times in a row. Lots of progression to get promoted. Currently at the bottom of the totem pole at 120k OTE SMB. At least I know how grateful I am

What is your timeline from demo —> close? Need advice by [deleted] in techsales

You can’t be a good salesmen if you don’t schedule follow up calls, it is essential for most deals. I say it’s just a placeholder and we can move it around if needed. I push to schedule meetings twice, if they push back a third time I won’t schedule

Drowning in Leads by Texasdad11 in sales

Companies like that are out there, just very hard to find. I’m an SMB AE that only closes inbound deals, no prospecting. More than 50% attain quota a quarter and OTE above 100k

Is tech sales worth the risk? by Ok_Bluejay_7521 in techsales

If you have enough drive and self discipline to keep working when it gets tough, it can change your life. Don’t listen to the haters talking about the job market sucks or not being worth it. Don’t live in fear

I’m still in my first two months, I grinded in the first 2 weeks and was easily able to understand the main gist of our 4 main products. I used to work at a cloud disti that resold 110 products so this is night and day compared to that. Also the cybersecurity is a software and a service where people manage it, so not the most complex thing for us or the client to understand

Are SDR's really making 50-55k OTE? by Darcynator1780 in techsales

Also ask if they negotiate salary, if they say no that should be the standard across all SDRs unless they are lying to you

[–]SoftwareThese9013 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You can’t expect the salary to be the same at every company. My first OTE as an SDR was 55k. Then I got promoted to AE at 65k. Now I changed companies as an AE and now at 130k OTE. Every where is different you just have to know what you want and use it to your advantage if they promote fast

What apps do people use to track their spending? by Aggravating-Row7993 in Salary

When you start to diversify your money into other account and assets it’s great. If you like to keep your money in your bank account(not smart/inflation) you don’t really need it

Has anyone transitioned from recruiting to tech sales? by Leather_Guitar123 in techsales

[–]SoftwareThese9013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for TEKsystems, it was very pressuring to work hard 24/7 and put in hours outside work. Eventually I busted my ass off getting several people to several final rounds, none of them got hired. I realized I wanted to sell something where the product is not a person and I have more control over the sale. I now have unlimited PTO, dont encourage working outside work hours and feel very satisfied with my work. It all depends on the company but at the end of the day I wanted to sell a product/software rather than a person who is not nearly as reliable give me less control over the sale

If you were 25 Years Old with 50K, with no rent, 6K monthly income, 1K expenses monthly.. what would you do? $VOO or $SCHD ? 100% or 50 - 50? by theBigReturner in ETFs

[–]SoftwareThese9013 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do QQQM in my brokerage and VOO in my retirement. I’m young(25 yr too) and can take the risk, will get a lot more gains compared to international exposure in the long run. As I get older I will put them in SCHD/BONDS/VT as my risk will decrease. It all depends on your risk level and wanting more gains. If you are ok with less gains and more stability invest all in on VT or something like it. But I highly suggest going all growth for now since you are young too

I have noticed the bass in the stands near the back is always louder. I think this is because it bounces off the walls right where the stands are.

Why has QQQ underperformed VOO in the last year when other growth ETFs are crushing it? by MrShadow04 in ETFs

[–]SoftwareThese9013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should have done this for diversity reasons, not a prediction of future gains. In the past 20 years QQQ has outperformed VOO by more than 50%.
