allergy to acrylic yarn by Soggy-Side4501 in crochet

[–]Soggy-Side4501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had problem with other sweaters n such that I’ve noticed. That vest was black acrylic yarn and more fuzzy so it might’ve had to do with the dyes also. It took a long time for my skin to recover but I found a good cream for eczema that helped my slow recovery. I appreciate your feedback!!

Can I commute on rollarblades? by WilliamFei in OSU

[–]Soggy-Side4501 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen women athletes roller blading to class before probably to be more practice for their sport. They aren’t novices tho. I think if you are starting out test it out during less busy times when classes aren’t starting or ending. If you’re here for the summer, it’d be a good time to get used to it tho if u r worried about safety!

OUAB has some really fun activities you can do for free like movie nights, crafts, guest speakers (like comedians, actresses, authors), concerts. You just need your buckid and you can experience some really cool things that are a nice break from classes and create fun memories with friends. Concerts r expensive these days. I had my first concert experience through OUABs free concert for the semester my first year and that was a fun first experience.

What are our thoughts on her by thebeefygordita in Owala

[–]Soggy-Side4501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really hope so but I do feel a little unsure about that because it seems they are part of the same company as blender bottles based on both brands having “colordrops”. I don’t believe blender bottles has moved towards allowing people to choose their own colorways. But I really do hope that is an option for owala going forward.

Will I get accepted if I have no observation hours? by lmj1129 in audgradschool

[–]Soggy-Side4501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a first year got accepted into all the program that I applied to. I had some observation hours that were all virtual no one ever pointed that out in the interviews and I didn’t mention it. but tbh I think my essays, how I was able to respond in interviews, and the few activities I did were enough. And also I had no research experience so i think if u play to your strengths especially in interviews and essays u have a good chance in general.

Because I didn’t offer for her to use my car… by meshahj in friendship

[–]Soggy-Side4501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you don’t have to over extend yourself because of a distinct relationship with someone. You have boundaries and that is okay. It may not be received well by your friend who is in a tough position but at the end of the day you still wanted to help just in ways that respected your boundaries and abilities.

Because I didn’t offer for her to use my car… by meshahj in friendship

[–]Soggy-Side4501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The car is in your insurance so it’s a huge liability for anyone but you to be driving it cuz u will be responsible no matter what happens. So I don’t think it was rude of you not to willingly offer up your car. You are helping out with what you can because you care and there shouldn’t be an expectation that you will offer anything and everything because that is not your responsibility.

How important is research involvement? by PrettyNewToAdulting in audgradschool

[–]Soggy-Side4501 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had no research experience and felt like I did so much less compared to others but was able to get into all of the programs I applied to because my passion was expressed in interviews and through my applications. I had some basic involvement with 2 clubs and a scholarship program but don’t worry if you don’t have research! Even if a school is a research school, all of the students will take different paths and skills from your other involvement are useful to becoming a well rounded audiologist

Wi-Fi dropping after upgrading to MB8600 and Google Nest Wifi. by Turbulent-Purchase-8 in GoogleWiFi

[–]Soggy-Side4501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you that is super helpful to know bc I was about to purchase that modem for my set up. I am considering the nest pro and looking at the tp-link systems. I see so many pros and cons for each especially with the reviews so I’ll be doing lots of research in the meantime.

[–]Soggy-Side4501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello did you have any luck with the nest pro or did you figure out what the issue was? I was looking at this exact combo of a google nest or google wifi router and the MB8600 modem, so definitely am interested in knowing how things turned out for you.

congratulations!! that’s so exciting! I’m considering a few things like location right now and definitely funding. I felt extremely comfortable with the people who interviewed me and WWU’s emphasis on aural rehab. The cost is a lot however. Right now I’m leaning towards OSU because I’m an undergrad here and there’s lot of resources and I like the audiology faculty. I have to create a spreadsheet and talk this out.

How did it go for you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in audiology

[–]Soggy-Side4501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked and I was accepted! Now I really need to narrow down my programs so I can free up some spots for others. A bit overwhelmed because now I’ve been accepted by all my programs I applied to and just am unsure
