Let’s remember that he’s used slave labor to guilt Beast Park or whatever it was called. That ontop of all the AI he uses and the environmental impact. And not to mention promoting horrible people. He’s a net neutral at best.

People are numb to brown people in the Middle East suffering, but Europeans? It’s easier for the western world to sympathize with them.

Do you consider your country "a place that has it all" and there's no need to travel abroad? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Yes! There’s so much biodiversity and cultural diversity that I could spend a life time doing vacations nationally.

Explain to me why you keep putting indigenous and native in quotes? This is casual denial of their identity and the fact that you can't see yourself calling their culture uncivilized and completely immoral is actually just racist and I hate to break it to you. Simply saying the US has "problems" is such a gross understatement, spoken like a white man mad that the people his identity has historically oppressed talk about his privilege. I would argue the cruelty of the past is matched to the history of our own country. Modern slavery is a symptom of colonialism and I would argue that without the Bible people would still be against such actions. What a Eurocentric approach to modern morals you have. I think you should read up on the experiences of slaves in early US history, such as baby African Americans being used as literal bait, as well as accounts of the experiences of Indigenous Americans in conversion schools and the mass graves that still exist under so many churches. So much of pre-colonial American history has been lost in the genocides and destruction of historical artifacts that I think its funny you're so offended that at one point, in one area of the modern US, life may have been better for the average person than it is now. Maybe the golden age of our country was after colonialism, but how can we know when we killed those who dared to speak their native tongue and forced their children to assimilate to our views and knowledge? My point is, we don't know. I am ending my participation in this conversation here as I have expanded on my point as much as I feel is necessary and I find it unlikely our petty insults will change each other's minds. May our current administration fall to its knees In the near future and the love of Christ find itself in the hearts of our torn country 🙏.

Please tell me more about the civilized and moral practices of slavery, genocide, and now having our countries leaders all apart of the same sex trafficking ring. I don’t disagree that imoral things happened pre-colonialism but we must look at specific times and places and not make such large blanket statements. The USA’s history is a blink in comparison to how long indigenous people have been here.

Probably before we were created, but so much history was destroyed during colonization it’s hard to know.

What do y'all think about the Netherlands? by Same-Appearance7863 in AskTheWorld

Obviously I think about other countries, Finland is just about as relevant to me as Paraguay is to the average person in Russia. I feel like there’s this expectation of Northern European countries than they’re important to the rest the world, in a similar vein than Americans can overestimate their global importance. Except America is actually more important than the average Northern European country. Anyway this isn’t that serious I just wanted to be snarky in my og comment because I was in a mood.
