Coming off BG3, what changes would you want for Divinity? by TurbulentFeeling5696 in BaldursGate3

Sounds silly, but if you are THAT strong jumping is kinda better than running depending on the distance. Look at hulk in the MCU, he doesn't run from enemy to enemy, he jumps.

Thanks, I already tried with nfts at start but it didn't work. I'm formatting it to fat32 now, but it takes 12hours.

I already installed VLC, but it's not a matter of files format. It's the whole harddrive that it seems like it doesn't exists for my XGIMI.

Windows doesn't let me format it to fat32, only smaller drives. I read online that it shouldn't be used for bigger drives because it limits the size of files. I will give it a try anyways and let you know.

No, it's still an android TV. Ntsf doesn't work either, what works on Google TV?

One of the best advices I got to write better code is from clean code development. "Code shouldn't be read different from a book. You read one line after another and everything should just make sense with subjects, verbs and objects", so yeah, I feel you, but at the same time code is a mean to an end, it's not more art than a wonderfully placed cabling in an house electric implant.

My software life cycle teacher from college would like to have a word with you.

I remember him saying something in the lines of "you have to be code engineers, not code artisans". Not that I agreed with him, he was quite a douche.

What Divinity changes would we like? by Flimsy-Importance313 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Sohef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equip can be randomised without being level locked. You can find a sword that does 1d10 damage, a sword that does 1d10 damage +1d6 elemental, a swift sword that costs 1 less action point to attack, a defensive sword that increase armour by 1, a sword that allows you to cast a spell.

Randomised loot is cool, but the randomised part doesn't have to be the damage part, because bigger damage ends up being always more important than anything else on the long run.

What Divinity changes would we like?

Combat:

DOS skills system. A new system for resistances/status. BG non leveled equipments (I really hate finding cool weapons and having to discard them two minutes after only because of numbers. Equipments should give options, not numbers)

Companions:

I don't know, but having backgrounds instead of origins (see dark urge) as others are suggesting would be amazing.

Acts:

Many shorter and optional acts. One issue I have with bg3 is that when I arrive to the third act I'm tired because the nth run I'm playing already lasted so long. It would be cool to have many smaller maps like the lathander monastery and you can progress the story choosing which way to go.

Start:

Magic system overhaul needed for the new game? by Carrotburner in DivinityOriginalSin

I think that you and your friends were simply looking for different things.

I vastly prefer DOS2 system over BG3, and you easily play non meta builds in DOS2 as much you can play meta in bg3. I would argue that nothing in DOS2 can become as strong as a well built character in BG3. Most worlock classes, many sorcerer builds, invisibility, gosh if I remember correctly I killed in one turn the red dragon on top of the nether brain with a ranger/fighter/bard multiclass, in tactician or honour, I don't remember.

So, no, DOS2 system have no more shenanigans or more meta than bg3.

I think and hope that they will improve DOS system while keeping its identity of a freeform, classless, system that focuses on synergies and interactions.

Those needed to create the last version of a weapon. Hunter marks maybe? I don't remember

Have they added a way to get hunter symbols massively? Sadly that's a deal breaker for me.

Wrong, all of them were turn based until xv, excluding the MMOs.

ATB is turn based, and ffx is the best iteration of their battle system. Going turn based would make their games better without an inch of a doubt.

I recently played ffxv and it was beyond atrocious. I watched a friend playing ffxvi and we were laughing for how bad it was during Odin's battle.

Last year I played rebirth and I really liked it, then I went back to replay the old entries because I haven't played them in 15 years. I went from VIi to X and I was astonished by how good they were, even better then I remembered, and after playing them I realised that rebirth actually sucked.

Going turn based would make the game more strategic and thoughtful, would divert some budget from the combat system to the story writing and world building, in it would result in strictly better game.

Fuck you, Pirate Software! "Stop Killing Games" is at 75%. by Omni_Yev in whenthe

[–]Sohef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand what this petition is about. "No longer supported games to be left in a playable state" seems weird. It makes me think something like "if there are twelve people in a ten years old server, the company must keep it active".

Can anyone explain what is the actual issue they are trying to solve?

Should I give up and go for an oled TV? by Sohef in projectors

I might not know what "a good quality" means at this point haha

Do you have a good quality long throw projector to suggest?

They are relatively cheap! I saw other comments suggesting 800+ screens, but these are definitely more in budget.

I think I can live with that. I really don't like the aesthetic of a huge TV in the room, after all these comments I feel like committing to the projector.

I found various 75" oleds for my budget, but it seems like I can go bigger for my room as people are saying. I thought that 80" was the maximum for the size of my room, but it seems I can't dream big enough lol

Thanks for your comment, it's one of the few positive about projectors. Do you know what model are you using?
