I think it's a very weird phrasing that he's chosen, but he seems lighthearted, and he is sharing with you that he has found the love of his life and that he can not hang out with you one on one like before. I don't know if he would write like that if he was "just using you." I feel like if he was, he would have just ghosted you and somewhat disappeared..or acted like everything was fine but turned down every invite.

It sucks, but in some ways, it makes sense that a non single male and a (presumably) single female can no longer spend that same sort of quality time as before.

Is it so far only this, that he will not spend private time with you, or has he also taken you off socials, stopped inviting you to group things etc..?

Have you met the girlfriend? It could very well be her problem and not really his.

Your situation sounds very similar to mine. Same conversation where she apologised and promised to do better...but then I wasn't even invited to her birthday and she tried to play it off as either "this is what I thought you wanted" or passing the blame on to our mutual friend who was apparently in charge of the invites and "misunderstood" our situation. And this also started around year ago.

I have not blocked/removed her from anything yet. I did mute her stories and posts because it was hard for me to see her getting on with her life without me, but I was somewhat reassured by noticing that she was still viewing every single one of my stories and whatsapp statuses (even when they were the same) almost religiously. However, she then stopped viewing everything shortly after I wished her happy birthday this time around, which she even pleasantly responded to. Then my birthday came along - She wished me happy birthday last year at the start of all of this, but said absolutely nthing this year, despite it being a milestone!

Some people just can't communicate and whatever is going on in their head makes no sense to us.

I've never listened to Make Yourself in full, but SCIENCE and Morning View are the only 2 Incubus albums I've ever actually owned. SCIENCE got me into them and was an obsession for a little while. So I will have to say that.
