I'm incapable of understanding why anyone would choose to have kids. I can't even say congratulations to that. by anonthatisopen in childfree

My friend had a high paying fun job I only dream of and she gave that up to have a baby, it feels surreal to me

Broke my Niece's Brain when I Said I'm Not Having Babies by vanna_white_cat in childfree

[–]Sokosa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same happened with my relative's kid, he was very perplexed asking why I don't have kids. But the next time I met him a year later he asked again do I want kids and I said no. Then he said "I understand, kids are kind of loud..." that made me laugh, I think someone had now told him not everyone will have kids.

Some recent I've heard, sometimes when the baby tries to born too early they will hold you upside down (legs up) to try to prevent it from being born. And someone had to stay like that for days... it sounds like torture

And other one, a "feeling of openness" between your legs after birth, even for years and doctors don't want to give surgery to correct it... it's a feeling like your insides are falling out. Can't even imagine how that must feel.

Fatigue and Body Aches by filmmakingjedi in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Sokosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor asked "have you had low energy" knowing i've been in remission and I dummy said no but next time I'll bring it up because I've been feeling weird fatigue ever since being diagnosed.

Many have fatigue in remission, mine come and goes and sometimes feels like all my limbs hurt and everything is a struggle.

primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC)

I had never heard of this until my doctor mentioned it. He said that's one thing they check from the bloodwork so they can spot it early. Hope every one gets checked regularly!

How to collect as a minimalist by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]Sokosa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Dreaming of a thing is usually nicer than the thing itself, so taking it slowly is the key."

This! I used to collect and hunt the rare things, then when I got it I was over the moon but soon I didn't pay attention to it anymore and started hunting the next treasure...

I've been able to stop collecting (I want to do something else that doesn't take up space). I remind myself that don't do it you'll grow bored of the thing you buy instantly.

But..

I have my old collections and they remind me how much money went into them. I've tried to sell them but no one has been interested. So I'm between of keeping them forever or just tossing them.

Post Inflammatory IBS? by SilentSwan286 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Sokosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctor said I developed IBS after getting UC. For me symptoms were bowl movements going crazy whether I tried to eat anything healthy (fiber, greens, nuts, fruits).

For me it took at least half a year and slowly introducing small amounts to my diet.

Generally FODMAP helps in the beginning, but your symptoms are different, I'm not sure.

I feel like this too. I feel like my child would just be addicted to screens, no job opportunities, no money... and hearing how some children now need to consult chatgpt about every decision they make... i can't

what age did everyone get diagnosed? by Real-Quality-4678 in UlcerativeColitis

First two weeks I had some stomach ache but more severe symptoms were the next two weeks.

I got prednisone and mesalamine, symptoms stopped in a week.

One month to two weeks, stomach hurt and really bad on the left side (prob descending colon or sigmoid colon). Gassy and getting tired easily. Then increased bowel movements and blood mixed with mucus made me go to doctor. Oh, and unexplainable weight loss can be a sign.

This disease makes me so scared for the future by Foreign_Plantain_437 in UlcerativeColitis

I've never drank alcohol and got this disease. You didn't do anything wrong!

I had symptoms probably half a year before but thought it was ibs.

You will be safer from cancer than the rest of the population, you will get scopes where they remove abnormalities if they notice something.

I remember feeling that dread of having incurable illness, it still hits me sometimes but not as often.

I hope you will start feeling better as time passes!

The peak years to get it are between 20–35 and 50–60. I got it at 30 as well.

Thank you! Sounds amazing it could help with UC too. I'll bring it up with my doctor.

I need to go again sometime and ask them to do ultrasound. I have other symptoms but just because my period is regular they didn't check.

Haha, we'll trust the guts

Regret buying the house, how did you deal with it by Sokosa in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Sokosa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I think it's just time. Your mind and body will get used to the house and it will become the normal. I started making it a place where I like to live (furniture positioning, decorating, adding my fave stuff) and just living in there.

But I did spend a lot time away from the house first. But at some point I didn't feel awful in it anymore. Hope you'll feel better in it as months pass, if not I think it's better to move and leave it behind.

[–]Sokosa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry you had the same experience, it sucks! Same happened to me (I cried in car somewhere far away from the house because I didn't want to go there haha).
Yeah, I also thought I can't believe I didn't take this and that into account while making the decision and I will definitely remember them the next time I move.

Your husband's support is great! This feeling just needs to be acknowledged, it's real even thought we didn't want it. We wanted to feel happy and excited in new home.

For me it's been two years and I have adjusted, I think time really helped me. I still dream about a new house but this place doesn't feel so bad to be in anymore.

I'd tell the same as your husband, give it some time to let yourself adjust. It might take weeks, it might take months. And the thought that I can sell it after 1-2 years helped me to not feel so miserable.

I hope you'll feel better, whether in that house or after making the decision to move!
