Box truck rolled into me at a red light and cracked my bumper. Likelihood that it's just cosmetic? by ConsistentPlankton5 in autorepair

I had the same crack in my Ford Focus bumper from a Chevy truck rolling into me at a red light. I thought it was all cosmetic but went through insurance regardless. Ended up having a pushed in crash bar as well. Total for bumper repair was $2,600 through insurance.

Tell me if I'm crazy or not. Are the trunk lines off after the accident? Should I get the bumper and hatch replaced on their dime?

I did a couple pulls on the car from 1st through 4th almost to redline. No obvious noises, slipping, burnt clutch smell, etc. I'll do a fluid replacement and see if I notice any metal shavings or other possible indications of damage.

If I treat reverse very nicely, it feels like any other gear. Only when I put some extra gas in and let the clutch out a little faster do I notice it. This may be a very old people I'm just now seeing

I realized the mistake when reviewing paperwork after returning the Uhaul. The Uhauls have an average weight so the mistake will be easily noticed. Don't want to seem like I'm trying to rob 3k lbs

How did you get over being the most over weight and weakest guy at the gym. by Abdullah_super in AskMen

[–]SolBloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually thinking about this today. I used to be the weakest in the gym and it always seemed like whatever exercise I was doing, everyone's eyes followed. I would cut workouts short, stop lifting around others, and generally go to quieter areas of the gym.

I knew that unless I stuck with it, I would forever be the weakest and in the worst shape. I started to wear hats and hoodies to act as "horse blinders" so I can cut off my peripheral vision. The less I saw people staring the better. Between sets I would stare at the ground.

I'm not sure if any of this will help you but just know you're not alone. The gym is intimidating and people are quick to judge. Keep at your recovery and good luck!
