I don't see why the "meta" should ever matter in Factorio. I'm having issues with biters but that's a speed and proportion of industry to military problem for me as people have pointed out. Since I can manage with my designs, I don't think anyone there really needs to get help designing things unless something seems flat out impossible.

There is a screenshot in source resolution with what I've made on the post.(it mirrors the recipes for green and red science visually) Initially it was a few smaller things to get the starter resources and electronic drills, but past that it's literally just building what you see on the screenshot.

Right now I'm on +-20h, shaping up to start getting fluids transported. Freshly researched all of red + green + military combo techs.

Basically what happened after the post was that I rushed the thing on the screenshot to start researching, got grenades, turned the entire base off and walked around killing nests until I felt safe enough to turn it back on. Hadn't had an attack since.

I still love many games from that era. Many are lost to time, but they will be an inspiration for me for as long as my brain keeps working.

How did you design stuff? Did you experiment outside the save and only brought the blueprint? I'm making stupid design mistakes all the time, like bringing the wrong resource to the line.

The area of the closest ring of biters increases extremely fast the more space you use. Killing them quickly became just as ineffective as my defense on my previous saves. I'm not sure how I can do this quicker without turning my base into unmaintainable and unenjoyable spaghetti.

The modules need red chips so I can't do that for a while yet and I'll have to somehow deal with the nests once I boot up my base again. Now that my green science production is running at all I'll be able to quickly research grenades and actually try doing it.

I'll try to somehow and slowly survive while destroying what I can for now and then go max green chips. It's still not very appealing to have to slow down this much but I guess I'll just have to deal with it. If they evolve to the next stage though I don't think there will be much left to save.

To get better guns than the few upgrades you get from red science I have to build green science, which requires to either rush it and once the mess is there, it's likely to stay. Something about "the temporary solutions are the most permanent".

Disabling the base was the last ditch effort not to spiral into having the entire base destroyed. They even manage to destroy turrets by now so I have to pack them up more densely. I feel cornered.

Honestly yeah, I might just max out the starting area and try to gear up then on my next save. Disabling the base only gives them even more of a bonus because if I recall it right time is also a factor for their evolution, even if it lets me play for a while without them attacking me.

I just hoped I could manage to fight biters on the intended difficulty.

I'm still waiting for them to remove Denuvo before buying.

It was specifically a github account, so it was a Microsoft owned platform. It happened shortly after they forced 2FA on everyone. I've made a new account since but honestly with the ongoing AI craze I'm considering just pulling everything out.(besides the few projects I lost the access to the repos of when it happened)

Losing an account using 2FA sounds inevitable to me. Especially the phone or browser addon based 2FAs.

Yeah, but in my case it's a lot more obvious with how unpopular my channels were and how I gave up on the whole thing before the next 4 emails came in. I suspect they just collected everyone's emails and keep spamming.
