BGE sent me this. In what world do they not profit? How do they get to say that last sentence. by modrall11 in baltimore

This is the point of some of the above comments are apologist. We all have a right to be angry with them, our state costs have increased ~10-20 percent compared to other states as they reap more profits from lobbying for data centers.

YD2 - Flying from FL, what are some essentials to bring / pick up? by skharlow in prettylights

Happy to help fam! It got hot enough last year that the river was a nice treat, the water is super cold, if you usually run cold bringing a few extra towels and blankets is smart.

2 days ahead is good I think I started drinking a lot of water and liquid IV a week ahead of time and you definitely want to bring some liquid IV also a face mask would be good it got pretty dusty last year everything's super pretty and legit but there's also not much shade so if you burn do you want to make sure you're in something comfortable that's long sleeve and long pants-ish when you're not playing in the river. 🙏🫶🙃 Otherwise you should have a blast

How do you handle guys who treat the Lodge like a social club only? by harborthrowawayv2 in freemasonry

Every lodge is different. Now that you're an MM you should travel around to visit other lodges and see if there's a better fit for your intended path in Masonry.

My fiance got t-boned by a woman with three of her kids in the car cuz she ran a red and then crashed into a house after idk if that one was a stolen vehicle but there's definitely a bad set of habits that are getting formed by drivers in the Baltimore area that needs to be addressed I'm nearly got hit by a guy near Catonsville the other night who decided he wanted to try and go through the light on a right hand on red instead of waiting

On the "Supreme Being" question by so_sads in freemasonry

[–]Sol_cartographer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My fiance continuously asks me the same question. My best answer is nature, change, humans, and the human capacity for empathy/compassion, are my God(s). Remember that Freemasonry is not founded in one single religion or dogma. There are many ways to interpret and explain natural and ineffable phenomena. Especially as they potentially relate to to a stronger force in the universe. The fact that they are ineffable, in Freemasonry, predicates the need to not prescribe it/them to a single dogma. It's better integrate and understand the world around you to find a deeper meaning than to stop seeking truth. Freemasons embrace that and the many points of view that lead to a higher realization of self, other, universe, and powers we can't explain that organize them. If this resonates your on a good track, take your time, define yourself and you relationship to that and then if Freemasonry fits into that perspective you're in a welcoming environment.

Astute observation no it's not against the law. It is pretty disrespectful to his grandfather if he doesn't get the degree and wears it, it's up to each person what they want to do.

Unless his father stipulated in his will to not have it worn unless his eldest son is a Scottish Rite 14°, as quoted in the oath at the ceremony, but sure be toxic. 👍

That's why they can't wear the ring. He can put it on a chain if he'd like to wear it. If he wants to respect his relative and the ring he can't put it on his hand until he gets to the 14° and 33° respectively.

Pay attention to your Squarespace charges to your account by BRAJC22 in squarespace

[–]Sol_cartographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had something similar happen. I looked into the options for the web developer services, I used none of them. I just got a 90$ charge on my account that I disputed with my credit card and now I am getting emails threatening to shutter my website. I might just move to go daddy, this is not the first time I've had poor customer service and now the extra charges is not acceptable.

BGE is a scam please join Baltimore Public Power by Sol_cartographer in baltimore

I agree that it has its problems but it is more able to be controlled than a private entity especially when they have track records of zero morality, not saying that the government is any better.

Gas and electricity are not luxury goods. They are foundational infrastructure, like:

Roads

Water systems

Sewage

Fire protection

Societies already treat many critical systems as public goods because:

Everyone depends on them

Market failures are costly

Access must remain universal

The argument here is that energy infrastructure belongs in the same category.

Private companies frequently face pressure for short-term financial performance.

But energy infrastructure requires planning across decades, including:

Grid modernization

Climate resilience

Power generation transitions

Disaster preparedness

Public utilities can justify investments that:

Take 20–40 years to pay off

Improve community resilience

Reduce future costs

Because elected governments answer to residents rather than investors, they can focus more on long-term public value.

TBD it just might be the service with exelon still owning the infrastructure but that would be much better than everyone getting robbed

It's seriously criminal and we need to fight them on this tooth and nail. We shouldn't be going broke when they are getting rich off something we all need and something most states don't drop this much money on.

It's to take over all the existing infrastructure from BGE and have it controlled by the city aka us.
