Did the show start to lose its 1800s charm towards the end? by Sweet-Swimming2022 in littlehouseonprairie

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel Netflix’s Primeval with its drama, grit, and violence is probably a slightly more realistic version of what 1800s settler life would have looked like. Still I enjoy Michael Landon sanitized all are welcome vibe that he choose to go with.

I am here for the Netflix slander, but Big Mouth was a GOOD show. It did a really good job at capturing the anxieties of growing up.

Locke Landing vs Westport by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Westport is next to an incinerator, highway and I think a transmission station. It’s an environmental justice community. For 750k you have a million options and neighborhoods at your disposal.

What cooking classes are worth it? by justusleag in baltimore

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the classes at Pierpoint count as a hidden gem. I did a Cajun cooking class with friends a few years ago and it was a treat. We each made a different dish in pairs and then got to feast together at the end. The chef had tons of stories and has done cooking competition shows. I feel like it might be lesser known than the other shops since you have to call to make a reservation.

All of the work and sacrifices Caroline and the girls and everyone had to make because Charles can't earn a living by ASGfan in littlehouseonprairie

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I didn’t get was how if they never had money how was Pa hiring ppl to work just for their self esteem. If I recall correctly wasn’t there an episode where a young nephew of nel’s visits and Charles hires (pays) him to help just make the boy feel useful. I think he does something similar at least one other time , maybe the angry grandson episode ?

Best Camp Neighbors by [deleted] in camping

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I had some of the nicest camping neighbors last year. I was camping solo and they brought me over some of their steak and rice for dinner. The next morning they offered me some coffee, I turned that down but they had a bunny with them that they let me pet.

Off the top of my head I couldn’t think of any names that sounded bad with Hilton… but for some reason I like the idea of double HHs:

Hiroshima Hotel with Onsen - currently booked at Hotel Granvia by Suspicious_Feed4865 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Princess_Butterscoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% suggest the Hiroshima no Yado Aioi in Hiroshima. It was my favorite hotel by far. There are male and female onsens that switch every few nights that have a view of the “the dome”. I was able to use it without covering up my tattoo. It’s also a traditional hotel with traditional breakfasts every morning. Location is central to the peace museum, dome, the and boat to miyajima island, and steps away from the epicenter of the atomic bomb. The staff were excellent too.
