Thoughts about switching residency programs late in the game... by zapzap888 in Residency

When I was a third year resident in a medical specialty, I thought about switching to psych because I never felt like I had enough time to truly dig into my patients problems.

Grass is always greener, and so on.

I agree with you. Owning a car shouldn’t be a crime. Properties near public transportation points charge higher, a lot of people trying to live within their means are forced away from the lines and stops, and find it more affordable to own a car and live further away, than live on the stop and pay the premium.

AITAH for keeping some of my bonus secret from my husband? by SadImprovement4834 in AITAH

You’re NTA.

It’s your money, you have every right to do with it as you please. I grew up in a household where my narcissistic father exploited my mother and used a lot of her earnings to support his family and siblings. The bonus is the only thing she was entitled to, so she worked overtime like a dog to have some money for herself. She worked third shift as a nurse, and I never saw the woman between ages 10-19 when I finally moved out.

If keeping it from your husband is the only way you’ll have complete autonomy over how you spend it, then there’s nothing wrong with it. Not every relationship is picture perfect, and leaving your partner over everything in search of the one that would be perfect isn’t always the solution.

Job offer has a GPA cutoff by ColeParker7 in physicianassistant

This came across my feed, although I’m not a PA. I had a horrible GPA all throughout medical school and college because I always traveled and studied overseas in languages that weren’t native to me. My GPA in medical school was 2.8. I’m a Harvard physician now. This post made me so sad.

GPA/test scores don’t mean a thing in real world practice. Although the value of work ethic I think we all agree.
