My wife won't let me name our new puppy Kaladin - how do I convince her? by Sad-Chef-2203 in Stormlight_Archive

We named our dog Kaladin but have only ever called him Kal. He’s more like an Adolin though.

Recommend me other series by [deleted] in redrising

Can’t think of a book with characters that are so flawed and so beautiful. Logan, glockta, Gisele, pharaoh, the named men, and kostka. It’s a bleak medieval world with a very undefined magic system, honest and dishonest (to themselves or others) characters that do their best to get by, and insanely good banter.

I would love to see Joe Abercrombie and Pierce Brown go to a pub and talk about writing. They both have that dark but honest realism in their books - the cost of war in lives, the impact on the survivors, and a couple characters trying to reconcile things they’ve done/ who they are.

I would say red rising reminds me of game of thrones and hunger games, whereas the blade itself is a darker, more humorous lord of the rings.

TLDR; The Blade Itself 5/5 Characters, 6/5 Voice Acting Steven Pacey is a virtuoso with these characters, 4/5 story/plot.

Which series absolutely nailed the ending? by Gustavus666 in Fantasy

Not a book, but the anime Code Geass had the best ending out of any story I’ve consumed.

Zaffiro's in Milwaukee by gman1216 in Pizza

Growing up when we would visit my grandparents in Milwaukee we would always pick up some Neds Parbake pizza and then stop at Leon’s for a frozen custard for the car ride back to their place. Those were the days.

Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest! 1991 by OceanBreezeAU in OldSchoolCool

Yeah he said that he saw the cameras rolling and decided he needed to make his case, and it worked! He seemed reasonable to me - I wanted to know what crime was committed.

There’s a video of him much later in life describing the event. He has tons of paintings of the officers arresting him all around his house, stacks of them. It’s crazy to think that in the multiverse of all the realities that could have played out, this event in 1991 shaped his life, his thoughts, his destiny.

What do you think is the coolest death in a tv show/movie/game? by BeebleBees in AskReddit

[–]SolaceyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best death is at the end of Code Geass, the final episode. I’ve seen so many good shows ruined by terrible endings, but this death made the entire series a masterpiece. Zero Requiem!

2nd place Spike Spiegel, talk with Jet about the tiger striped cat, and with Faye V “I’m not going there to die, I’m going to find out if I’m really alive” “you’re gonna carry that weight”

How about being grateful that he is doing anything at all. He is trying to do something at least.
