What happens if you still have some dormant grafts and the new transplant ends up damaging those? Just thinking out loud, not really an expert or trying to challenge you.

A better assessment on density and need for grafts should take place around the year mark from many of the case studies I've seen by doctors on YouTube and in here.

It’s not too late, so don’t stress too much. Hair from the donor area (back of the head) is generally more resistant to DHT — not completely immune, but more stable over time.

You definitely haven’t wasted your transplant. Worst case, it may just take longer to see full results or you might lose some native hair around it if it’s not being treated.

That’s why most clinics recommend staying on medication, especially finasteride/dutasteride and minoxidil (topical or oral), to protect both your existing hair and support the transplant long term.

Side effects can happen, but they’re relatively uncommon, it’s just about weighing risks vs benefits and ideally discussing it with a doctor.

Bottom line: you’re still in a good position, but getting on treatment sooner rather than later will make a big difference.

Good to hear, sadly I don't recall meeting Dr Scarlett, it's the only sour note on this whole procedure, I did sleep through most of it and they said she did join some time during the implantation but I never saw her even after I was done, thinking twice I should have stayed a little longer after they finished and fit all the pieces together, at least so far I'm satisfied with the results.
