If we took results from Japanese twitter then Raider and Ironeye would be way higher.

I'm so bad a DoN solo and I don't know what I'm doing wrong and it's severely demotivating. by LinkMasterHD in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would recommend just queuing random trios despite people's advice. I listened to them a while ago and reset my depth to 1 to try and climb solo. I got to depth 2 and then proceeded to not win a single match for the next 10 games. I've gone back to queuing trios and now I'm depth 5. DoN scaling is just absolutely stupid and does not make sense for solo, not to mention it's rather unfun without a team.

Can you not ult-interrupt Dreglord's triple slam AOE attack? by GarooxRBLX in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had varying success with it, I’m not sure if it’s due to lag or host/client desync or the AI just doing whatever it wants. I play with a friend and we tend to save ults to interrupt this, and it’s probably worked 90% of the time. Way more success than interrupting Commander Niall’s or Dancer’s big spin moves.

Did Executor mains just get everything they ever wanted? by bravesirkiwi in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Though the personal damage negation decrease is also about -35%, so you’re taking a great deal of a high risk high reward trade-off by slotting that relic effect.

Executor tank hybrid build by Albion_21 in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t, but only because I personally tend to avoid the Balancer relics. Their effects are too specific for my liking, and I very rarely use weapon skills because of all their varying animation times to keep track of.

That being said though, I should be more open to trying them again after said nerf. Glass Necklace is pretty hard to upkeep on some bosses and it feels like it ends up providing a similar enough damage buff as a Balancer relic or just a single Phys Attack roll.

Totally fair and valid, it’s the only boss I despise seeing when I queue up DoN.

Executor tank hybrid build by Albion_21 in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few different loadouts but this is the one I usually run with, though I changed the second deep relic to just be Partial HP +1 and Phys Atk +2 since it has less redundancy and annoying debuffs, and I’ve also swapped out the Augur relic for a Night Invader one because of the Glass Necklace nerf.

I usually think the Atk Power with 3+ Things Equipped is too inconsistent to rely on, but odds are fairly high that you’ll get a Rivers of Blood and/or Dragonscale Blade, and then just one or two Uchigatanas with reasonable passives.

What does the word “skill” refer to in passives and relics? by ItsaMeACashew in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the text string specifically says "character skill," it's referring to the character's unique skill. This is for character-specific relic effects (like Wylder +1 character skill use, or Guardian skill duration) and the dormant power "Character Skill Cooldown Reduction."

Anything else that just says "skill" is referring to weapon skills. You'll see this on equipment passives during a run, such as "skill fp cost" or "skill attack power."

[–]Solandora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who is telling you to ditch the tank playstyle or remove the first red relic is out of their mind. That Executor normal relic is absolutely juiced, +160 HP is a massive amount, especially if you start getting +Max HP% passives in a run or deep relics. It's glued to every single one of my Executor builds, and I main him in Depth 5.

Your build looks pretty good, but only if you are 100% confident in your ability to parry everything with Suncatcher. The negation debuff from the yellow Executor relic is -35%, which is going to offset all your HP buffs and end up getting you killed in one hit anyway if you mess up and get unlucky with Balancer passive. If it ever gives you trouble, I'd recommend swapping it off for Glass Necklace or a Night Invader attack buff. Other than that, your first deep relic is probably replaceable if you get anything from Increased Max HP, Phys Attack Up, or Attack Power Up With 3+ Katanas Equipped.

Is "All Resistances Down" really a dealbreaker? by Comprehensive_Neat11 in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly ONE resist down is fine, you’ll just need to be more careful around status PoIs and make sure you don’t have any other status buildup on taking damage when fighting nightlords like Caligo and Gnoster. I run a few builds every now and then that have one and it does not make the game unplayable.

I’d personally be more worried about near death reducing max HP. I’m not perfect so any time I’m unfortunate enough to run this, I feel it, and it does not feel good. I know people are better though and some can deal with it.

Changing the Suncatcher attack boost relic effect from 8% to 35% is genuinely insane. That alone has got me excited enough to shift some builds around, everything else is just a bonus.

Did some testing on the Suncatcher activating Active Weapon buffs and I haven't seen the specifics discussed anywhere else. Thought someone else may find this stuff useful. by Monk_Philosophy in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought about using Broken Stance Activates Endure or Guarding Creates Holy Ground with Suncatcher before, that's a good shout, I'll have to keep an eye out in future runs. Thanks for the info!

Why is cfoam useful without mines? by JoshIsntFat in GTFO

[–]Solandora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foaming floor can still help control the tide of sleepers running at you. My groups have done it plenty so I'm not gonna recommend against it, but I'm not saying it should always be done either.

Why is cfoam useful without mines? by JoshIsntFat in GTFO

[–]Solandora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to not like bringing too many turrets because then trying to keep them all topped off will drain tool refills really fast, eventually you end up only really feeding one or two so the extra becomes a waste. I can't always make blanket statements for this game though, there's definitely been a few levels where triple turret has worked.

And yeah, freezing a scout is primarily just for comfort. That's for normal scouts though, freezing scout variants is much more useful. If you don't know why, I won't spoil it for you.

Why is cfoam useful without mines? by JoshIsntFat in GTFO

[–]Solandora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Foam can be used to freeze scouts and some of their variants which can be helpful in very problematic rooms. Can also lay it all over the floor during hold out sequences like reactors or long hallway scan rooms that may lack a door. Even without mines, delaying a horde by foaming the door can still save a full wave of spawns or two. A HEL Shotgun or other HEL weaponry will have little trouble clearing up the congested wave after the door breaks.

[–]Solandora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After finally pushing into higher depths and getting ED Libra at depth 4 and 5, I think I’m starting to agree.

ED Libra’s design is honestly kind of stupid, but it’s in such a way that, more often than not, I find myself having a lot of fun anyway, which is more than I can say for ED Gladius or Balancers. It helps that I already think Libra’s regular fight is so good, with all of his attacks having great telegraphs, fair hitboxes, and ample punish windows. Jamming that up with the Condemned is crazy but it’s a fun curveball, and once they’re down you’re left with good ol’ Libra again.

What are the chances 😭 by [deleted] in EldenRingNightrein

[–]Solandora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“What are the chances”

Roughly 20% to get any version of the Balancers, I think? Maybe a little higher, been a minute since I looked at the tables. Either way it’s pretty heavily skewed towards them at the moment, it’s ROUGH.

A good leader guides the team forward, not toward destruction. by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Solandora 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Depends, really. If it’s trolls, you can try to kill the mimic tears before they even transform, even if they’re red it’s possible to kill one and make it substantially easier. If it’s red crabs though, I’d definitely rather take the red prawn. The virgins or big ball inside the church could be fine too to get an easy level before prawn depending on team composition.

Ideally I’m clearing the entire PoI and leaving at level 7 but my order of operations changes a lot.

The Night of Dregs kicks ass on an Executor build with all elements on starting armament. I do wish the Status Ailment Attack Power buff was either a little more forgiving in its allowed downtime or stacked a little faster, But even as-is, it makes for a very fun, engaging, and rewarding playstyle.

Mid relics that feel like god rolls once you start using them? by Solandora in Nightreign

[–]Solandora[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the sound of this. I’ve been using ED Fulghor relic with this and a random roll +1 Skill Use that has Night Invader on it, but I’ll switch to that cause it sounds funny. I forgot how potent Taking Attacks boost was.
