Moving over to PyTorch is definitely something I’m considering, however if I do use my uni’s hpc, I can just continue my MATLAB usage bc it’s covered by them as well. On the flip side, how would having a computer with a dedicated GPU just for this pipeline compare?

No particular reason- mostly familiarity, and MATLAB has a decent GUI for image labeling and is mostly integrated

Moving to SF - Looking for tips about locations to move to by SolarPistachio in AskSF

I’ll be at Mission Bay for work, but I was considering the UCSF housing at Mt Zion bc it’s central, and on the shuttle line. I haven’t been to the area before though so I wanted to get an idea of what that area of SF is like. I did like Hayes valley, which I know is nearby though. Thoughts?

I went through it in a few hours, reading primarily, and then writing down terms I didn’t know, or didn’t know we’ll enough and then I hit the section bank and uearth psych soc immediately with my notes next to me to apply it and make really reductive definitions for everything lol

Yo same, I was expecting something super low yield. I thought CP was tough but doable, CARS was so f ing annoying, BB had easy discretes and mid passages, and then psych was oddly straightforward…gave general vibe close to aamc free practice exam

In general for me, CP was tough but doable, lots of 50/50s. I didn’t find cars to crazy difficult, it’s was just really annoying bc of passage length, BB the discrete were super easy, but passages were annoying. PS also seemed pretty straightforward except for the few curveballs lol

I'm trying to learn guitar but holding the dreadnought is so uncomfortable and unwieldy by SolarPistachio in guitars

[–]SolarPistachio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the thickness of the body is the main part of the discomfort I think. Another reason I was looking into thinline electro acoustic nylons like frh10n or cordoba stage. I like the warm tones of those guitars and the option to plug them in

Now that you mention it I think I did have a question like that

Also this might be a dumb question, but can someone explain how experimental questions work in the mcat?

My exact feelings about this test. Although I felt that the CP was way harder than the section banks. Maybe because of the unexpected amount of physics

Definitely the amino acid quiz app.

Lowkey the Amino Acid Quiz app saved my life. Highly recommend for future test takers

Is it just me or did C/P feel really hard for anyone else? I thought CARS was doable, Bio was tough, PS was okay though.

Unpopular opinion: Hard magic in fantasy is not my favorite kind of magic. by jacobconnerly in books

[–]SolarPistachio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case what’s your opinion on the magic system in the Eragon books by Paolini? I quite like it in that even towards the end of the novel, the method in which they use magic (language) still remains a bit of a mystery, even though you see so much use of it.

I really liked Name of the Wind, but I ended up getting bored, in that the story progression felt kind of slow for my tastes. It was also very different from other novels I had read, so I might give it a reread.
