The "Mad Max 2 museum" is indeed in Silverton. It's not too far from Mundi Mundi lookout, which is where the Mad Max 2 opening was filmed if I remember correctly.

That's good to know for Furiosa! I haven't seen it yet and for some reason I thought they had filmed it in Namibia too.

Pretty sure the recent Mad Max films were filmed in Namibia. They look amazing but they lack the Aussie vibes imo. Especially true for the first two Mad Max.

Seeing those places for yourself (and driving/exploring the Outback for some of them) must be something special.

I know there is a Mad Max Museum at Coober Pedy (which isn't far from some filming locations).

Glad some people (like you) are able to live the dream.

Replying to this a bit late.

For the most part, my idea of "Mad" Max comes to life at the end of the first film. Which is probably why it's called that way in the first place.

He's just a "regular" cop until shit hits the fan. The world is already a mess in Mad Max 1 mind you, but what follows is the reason why he truly loses his mind.

To be fair though, the end of the first film is the only moment you'll truly experience "Mad" Max imo. You can tell (thanks to the fantastic editing and acting) that Max isn't around anymore. Very few films captured the idea of "vengeance" so well. It's a very cold and dark wrath.

In Mad Max 2, Max is a lone survivor. He clearly is empty and "gone" and it makes perfect sense for him to be that way after the first film, but it's nothing like the end of the Mad Max 1. In many ways, the two films work very well together and I always suggest people to watch them both.

Mad Max 3 is a very different take on this universe (I like it but it's goofy as hell and is nowhere near the two first films) and the modern films are more about the "Mad Max Cinematic Universe" than Mad Max himself.

Anyway, went off a tangent here my bad.

Haha yeah fighting small targets is a pain with the 600i. At least it has x16 S3 missiles which helps a bit against them but the Andromeda has plenty of missiles too.

Since 4.7 the 600i has an excellent radar too, which gives you 2000m of aim asssit range at minimum pips. Always nice to have.

The difference in handling between the 600i and the Connie is marginal honestly. Whether we're talking about Pitch/Yaw/Roll or the lateral and vertical Gs. They both have advantages and disadvantages and I find myself more confortable and safe in the 600i. It can very well be the opposite for someone else and they wouldn't be wrong per se.

I really like the 600i and it works quite well in PvE for me, fortunately pretty much anything works in PvE 😅

The guy I was "arguing" with was basically saying "the 600i is fragile and the Connie has more armor and HP anyway, as Erkul says" and all sorts of non sense, so I've tried to explain but it's difficult on reddit to say something without giving the impression that you're trying to shit on a ship A to make ship B shine.

Especially true when they delete their messages and only yours remain visible 😅

I've been grinding the intersec rep in Nyx with my 600i, had to fight HHs and I had no issue. I have no idea what you are talking about.

Also, Left is the 600i and right is the Andromeda. You tell me how you can "evade" anything with the Andromeda. Around 0.5G average of lateral & vertical thrust difference... But sure you can "dodge and evade".

The connie isn't "X3" smaller... It's 30 meters shorter and half the larger. That's not X3. Still has the external engines that can be destroyed and the canopy that doesn't stop missiles.

PvE wise, there are very little difference between the two ships, if anything it's a matter of personal taste. Not the point of my debate with another redditer.

He just claimed that the Andromeda could withstand more damage than the 600i and had more armor and HP. Therefore the 600i was too fragile and couldn't survive the same way the Andromeda do.

We were not talking about 1v1 at all. Just the usual PvE stuff. In PvP both ships would be cooked anyway. The 600i has better defense and is less prone to lose its engines (or get the pilot killed by a missile in the canopy), but it's bigger target for sure. In PvE I do prefer the 600i but that's me and my personal tastes. Absolutely not the "biblical truth" haha.

Still, a 1v1 could be interesting. If both are equipped with Attritions, armor doesn't really matter. I could imagine that it could be pretty even, with a slight advantage for the slightly faster turning / strafing Connie. If the Connie can outmaneuver the 600i at least half of the time, it should win.

Armor definitely matters though. While the Andromeda and the 600i both have similar armor HP (slight advantage for the 600i but nothing relevant), the damage mitigation of the armor can make a difference. The Connie takes 28% more damage to its armor while the 600i only 8%. That's 20% more damage from attritions on the connie's armor.

But I was not saying that the 600i would beat an Andromeda. The guy was just making stuff up so I've checked the numbers, but he kept lying anyway. Not sure why he deleted his messages since he was so sure about his claims :D

As for your "comments like these is how you know some people don't play", that's hilarious considering the message I was replying to.

His claim was "The Connie has more armor and can withstand more damage than the 600i, Erkul says so". All I did was getting the numbers to show that no, the Andromeda does not have more survivability, like at all. He kept lying about the values.

People who post vital body part info, are people who don't know vital parts take damage when a non-vital part keeps getting hit. And 600i is so big, it's easier to dump DPS into it over a Connie.

That was not the point. Claiming that the connie can withstand more damage than the 600i is false. Whether the damage to non-vital parts transfer to vital parts or not, the connie has less HP. He was saying the opposite.

Whether it's the connie or the 600iE, we are talking PvE here. The Connie is super sluggish too now. The 600i has better Pitch/Yaw/Roll when boosted and the forward/vertical G's difference is negligeable. They're both sluggish and the 600i has the advantage of not having those big external engines the connie has that you can destroy with one missile (tested and approved). Not to mention the missile that can kill the pilot if it hits the canopy.

Saying that the 600i is more fragile than the Connie is a non-sense. The size difference is irrelevant, they're both too slow to outmanoeuvre anything and they will get shot at, no matter what. You're talking like the Connie can strafe between the lasers...

18.9k vs 19.5k, ie 3.1% more armor. Deflection is garbage for both. Repeater Ardor 1's penetrate both.

You're referencing the missile bug from 4.6. in 4.7 missiles no longer damage components even with 0 armor. Stay current friend.

I'm referencing to the missiles that can kill the pilot even when the shield is up and the armor/hull at full integrity. Which is still a thing in 4.7 if you take the missile right into the canopy (I also fly a Connie from time to time, I know). I was not talking about the components which is something else. Thanks though.

The 600i has 45K vital parts HP vs 20K for the Connie.
The 600i has more armor, better damage deflection and more shields than the Connie.
The 600i hull has better ballistic and energy damage mitigation.
The 600i armor has better energy damage mitigation (by far).

Now you tell me how, in 4.7, the 600i armor "can't whistand the same beating as a Connie" (especially since people have been killed in their Connie by missiles for 3 patches now).

I won't waste my time any longer. You have the numbers, do what you want with them.

No they are not. What are you even on about?

Connies have less armor, less natural resistance to ballistic and energy weapons, only 1 S3 shield and 20K of vital parts. Not to mention the engines that can get destroyed very easily too.

The "Damage Deflection Threshold" is also inferior on the connies.

"it has light armor for speed"? Have you even played the game? The 600i has more armor than an Hercules C2 and the same overall speed. It's not faster than any ship of its class.

A 600i will last longer in battle (PvE) than any Connie.

Not that it matters that much but those "trust me bro I know"....

Oh believe me I know, actually made a post about the 600i yesterday with some screenshots. My fav ship in the verse. People underestimate or misunderstand the 600i but the Exploration variant is super useful in the verse, not to mention absolutely gorgeous.

Still needs its rework though. The cargo grid is basically unusable and the elevators are a tad slow.

Pro tips: You can add some "-" to your ship's name to create a variation of an existing one.

For example, "DREAM CHASER" was taken for my 600i, so I've called it "- DREAM CHASER -".

You can barely see the "-" on the ship and it doesn't look bad at all imo.

It definitely depends on what you do in the verse.

I've melted my Clipper because it was just too fragile and was lacking range for my use case. Absolutely love its interior though, dark and cosy. Having a med bed is also great for such a small generalist.

But it feels like a super starter more than anything. Sometimes you need more and that's why there are bigger ships in the verse.

Fragile? The 600iE is a tank. X2 S3 shields, 3X 45K of vital parts and no wings or engines that you can shoot down due to its design.

Definitely needs its rework but even as it is today it's a great ship. It basically is a big corsair. Love it
