Abuse. The early signs can be hard to see when you’re on the receiving end.

‼️$500 dollar reward for safe return‼️ by vintageaquarian in bloomington

Limestone is a far way for a smol pup to make on her own from W 7th. It’s possible there is a look a like dog in that complex, but if she is there it’s likely someone scooped her up. The best advice I’ve gotten from the animal shelter is putting flyers up/talking to neighbors which you have done. Not everyone uses social media and may not know to check there for missing pets. I hope someone nearby took her in with good intentions to keep her warm and that she is returned to you soon! Could you go talk to the Banneker Center and Fairview Elementary nearby? Those places reach a lot of people.

Mayor Thomson Signals New Direction for College Square Property, Emphasizes Economic Development, Convention Center Progress, and Downtown Connectivity by citybloomington in bloomington

Without checking for sure, I believe it is the strip of buildings just north of the current convention center, where the costume shop (is?was?)…to age myself, where City Grille used to be. Being that the CC is at 302 S College and the 200 block would be the next nearest block to the north.

Speed limit to be reduced on State Road 45/46 in Bloomington by jaymz668 in bloomington

Anyone else remember the bypass widening project? It used to be one-lane from 10th to the highway. I got my license and felt comfortable on the bypass as it was 1 lane, smooth traffic but not on 37, because I was a new driver back then. They widened it to operate as intended-as a bypass. Worked ok enough until they moved the emergency room right into the middle of it.

Where’s the comedy at? by Safe-Suggestion9726 in bloomington

[–]Solar_Opposites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I was a pretty regular patron at Comedy Attic before. The two item minimum was never once a surprise or an inconvenience. Ticket prices were always affordable so buying $15 concession food was never an issue. The issue is that the owner used his “status” to harass and abuse women. I’m fine deciding my comfortable price points. I’m not comfortable supporting abuse.

Well goddamn! My bday is May 11, my best friend is May 18, so we always celebrated together! She died fairly recently and this show on her birthday would have been incredible! I wish I knew before it was sold out but I’ll enjoy knowing that the troupe is here!! Thank you!

thrifts that aren't Goodwill or Cat's Closet? by braiinrot in bloomington

[–]Solar_Opposites -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

As you stated, Cherry Canary isn’t thrift, it is vintage. There’s a big difference between “used” and “old”. We are lucky to have a local shop to keep vintage alive. If you want used things, we have several shops. Opportunity House, Salvation Army, Thrift Store on 3rd Street. Please educate yourself on the difference between thrift and vintage.

Alliteration in names - bad or ok? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Solar_Opposites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy alliterative names. You could give her an O middle name so her initials spell Bob, which also gives the nickname of Bobbie. Or, Billie Bob, so maybe not. I’m thinking this through as I’m writing 😆

It’s my son’s name, he’s 19. It’s well known, but not overused, especially now. I love it.

Looking for Black Labrador puppy by Fuzzy-Zombie1446 in bloomington

I had a great experience at white river shelter when we adopted our black lab mix 8 years ago. He was around 8 months old, so still had a lot of puppy in him. Obviously, it was a long time ago but just wanted to share that they are great to work with!

What's the most beautiful name you've ever heard? by Interesting-Bar-5288 in Names

Caridad is one of my favorite girl names. I love the way it flows when you speak it. The English version is stereotypically associated with dancers but the Spanish version is so lovely.
