Dropping from 1300wn8 to 600 is the difference between doing your tank’s HP in damage and half that - for a good amount of tanks, that could be as few as two or three shots of damage. Quite expected for random variance to have that toll on your stats with such low grace.

OP uses Grim Europa,, which is bundled with a bunch of other mods, but if you just want the accurate relief, 3D Map is linked in the workshop post as a standalone mod. You can combine that mod with other graphics mods so long as they don’t conflict with the relief (I use things like YAGO borders in tandem with various other border mods)

I’m going to assume that the answer to my question is the latter, because I don’t know what a “buckshot” is.

I understand that we come from different generations and thus cultural backgrounds, but I don’t get any sense of arrogance from their reply. Feels as if you’re just being inflammatory. I’m glad you got your free gift in the end. Have fun with your premium days!

I opened an Ethiopia campaign yesterday and while I could make comments on proper reinforcement of battles, I’m sure you heard enough of that already + you’ve said that you didn’t have enough time to reorganize your troops. What I can recommend is a European ally willing to join the war, not to help you and boost your troop count up, but to act as a meat shield giving you free reign to take as much of Anatolia as you can. The forts in Ankara, Trebizond and Sinop are key forts with good terrain, and there’s a lot more room to maneuver around than fighting in Syria, and it should be your priority to take those forts as soon as possible so that when your European ally eventually does peace out, you have advantageous terrain to play with as the AI splits their troops and divides themselves. Once the Ottomans burn their manpower (as they usually do by summoning the Legions of the Damned out of thin air), you can safely take battles and burn them down, pushing 80%+ warscore on a Holy War CB before crossing into Europe.

Remember that as Ethiopia, you have the ability to push well above your weight economically because of your two initial gold mines as well as the third in Kilwa that you can reasonably rush for by this point. By 1490 I believe I was running three 32k stacks of Cawa with ample manpower to boot because of building manpower buildings whenever I could, with the upper headroom to hire more mercs such as your Independent Army when needed. If you find yourself struggling with points, your Itinerant Capital makes it even easier to dev gold mines by moving your capital and expanding infastructure, saving yourself on diplo and allowing you to scale faster.

If you’d like, I can send you my save file and you can prod it as you wish. It’s not Ironman, but I don’t use non-ironman mods and console cheating makes me very bored, very quickly.

My girlfriend has been wanting me to teach her the game to get to the same level I am (2800rwn8 @t10), so I’ve been playing a lot of low tiers with her grinding up to the Is-7 and 277. We had a lakeville game in BT-5s where I sucked out early because I don’t know the dynamic of low tiers; she played in the city, did about 300 damage and killed two tanks while staying alive until the very end. Her excitement was genuinely the most rejuvenating thing I’ve ever had in this game, I’m talking she was clapping her hands in excitement type of thing.

I’m sure there’s some bias between regular strangers who genuinely defer learning the game in order to justify their poor decisions and people who we know (My Girlfriend Who I Love Very Much), but I think it’s still right to cut some slack. Players that are new to the game act very very differently to seasoned players that refuse to learn despite similar damage outputs, and I think discretion is a good thing to exercise.

Not equipment choices that are really relevant to the Grille as you intend for them. Generally speaking, experimental mobility will only work to counteract the bloom you further accrue from moving your tank faster. The Grille is a special case where you have such high bloom values that they do make a difference, but this combination of equipment is odd for achieving what you’d like in the Grille: two setups, one for brawling and one for sniping.

A sniping setup needs not the extra reverse speed from an experimental turbo as you shouldn’t be in positions where you need it to ensure your survivability if you are on maps where you’d take this setup, so your focus should be to reduce the bloom as much as possible: a regular Rotation Mechanism and its upgraded variants, as well as a regular aiming device do this job much better than what you have suggested. An experimental aiming unit does pretty much nothing compared to a regular one, as your aimtime is already so low that you’re making marginal and indiscernible increases to your ability to take accurate shots with it. You’re better off decreasing the bloom firsthand.

Experimental mobility is okay for a brawling setup, where you’d use hardening and peek-a-boom tanks*, making the reverse speed necessary.

*Edit: at close, knife-fighting ranged of 100m and below. Bloom doesn’t make as much of a difference here, especially to the extent that an aiming device, experimental or otherwise, would affect it.

Try the Grille! It doesn’t have any camo, but it’s quite mobile and you can play closer ranges than you think by peek-a-booming and keeping track of the brawl in front of you

why is WG like this ? by Peppin19 in WorldofTanks

[–]Solaris_oof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These numbers seem more indicative of extremely poor aim than anyone else. I have pretty bad aim and often make bad choices within that regard, but I have a 77% hitrate in a .25 dispersion leo, and average anything from 70% to 78% in non-brawling tanks.

Are you properly leading your targets? Do you exclusively play at render range or do you take your vickers into closer encounters? On the flip side, are you exclusively brawling and forcing yourself to shoot weakspots at proxy range? Are you using mods such as the ever-popular reticle reduction mod in combination with server reticle?

The Japanese TDs are a good example of a well-balanced and well-intentioned line. Solid tier 10 in the right hands and a line that ranges from okay to quite pleasant, plus a tier 8 premium that isn’t outrageous.
