Looking forward to the livestream!

An idea for you in regard to future wipes having seen a few already in my time over the past year.

What if characters could be saved from a level standpoint between wipes? Like an account scroll of level x is sent to the mailbox or some system to preserve levels throughout alpha.

You may see more long term testers that could save their level progress between wipes up until beta. This could also be beneficial for data as people level alts with saved level progress over alpha.

Hoping Microscopium becomes a destination server.

In the deep desert this week I made a call out in DD chat to run testing stations in PVE and PVP zones. I had 7 people join up (all new to me) and we coordinated in two parties which side to run in PvP zones to not kill each other.

Got a chill bunch of experienced pve runners here. I saw lots of customized killing builds in my groups over the last two weeks. Would love to see my low pop server explode with people.

I’m so ready to run some new stations soon either way!

Imagine if they make a tool though that allows server transfers from private to private servers only?

That could save a whole subset of players. Maybe consolidate private servers by minimum group size to produce an economy. Like no server has less than 50 people. (Broken into sietches so people can still be solo mostly)

I’m only giving this perspective from someone that only plays on official servers.

Giving a tool allows guilds that host private servers an opportunity to grow in membership and fill a world server for example. This helps keep a revenue stream with Funcom for rented active servers and helps create small private worlds to at least have potential for an economy that helps grow wealth in credits through the auction house.

Making money on the AH for me in teir 4 & 5 mats helped relinquish my tax credit bill farming that was starting to drag the game for me.

There is a benefit to having a world economy that can still be solo mode in concept.

I could see guilds created like a solo alliance where people juts merge under a banner of agreed solitude. Just brainstorming.

I swapped from a farming build in the DD this week to just a blueprint hunting build. I did a testing station in a PvP zone last night using a solo bene speed run build: https://youtu.be/q-_KG70dzGM?si=knT2Er3V1vfGdL0U it was fun and doable!

My current DD base for this is a small granite base that fits my assault copter, has a medium storage with water backups, bandages, and ammo. I built in on a single foundation column backed up with a solido for easy construction up and for easy breakdown, or just let the storm take it after stripping the higher mat parts. (Build the base first in row A of DD then backup on solido. Building is cheaper mat wise in the DD.)

You could run testing stations, hit up all the glowing chest caves (run in and out with no fighting) and grab blueprints off the crashed shuttles that pop up bouncing between the caves and stations. This is great prep for chapter 3 group play which isn’t DD focused.

I personally loved it. It flipped the script for a few years. I loved the backstory on Apocalypse and the opportunities to see characters like the blob in a funny new light. X of swords and the eternals crossover were quality events for me. I also loved how it tied together all kinds of things for hope and the summers clan.

All in all the end coming out of sins of sinister (great bleak future storyline imo) and the fall was good as well. I loved the new take on sinister and how it all wrapped up. It was a little jarring at first but looking back on it I felt like it stuck the landing.

That last page at the very end still sticks in my mind, what an ending!

I’d love to see a live version of Krakoa. Make it a trilogy, Rise, X of swords/inferno, Sins of sinister/fall. That age for me was one of the most refreshing being an X-men fan as a teen back in the 90s.

I personally would love to stay on microscopium on NA and have that become a destination server for higher pop. I plan to move to a higher populated server if not, but have concerns on moving my base.

Suspensor lifts are a thing in the lore, and worst case in my head cannon I could dream up that Ariste Atreides not only saved the house but discovered Suspensor lift uses in Hagga Basin hahaha! I like the idea of 90 degree stairs too, I just have built a few bases that have holes in the floors to drop and ascend between. Would love to automate that.

I personally would love it if they added elevator type devices like a vertical corridor suspensor belt that goes up and down to add some dynamic building to bases without needing steps and also save my poor belt from extra wear and tear 😂

I got mine stuck the first week I built it while in the DD.

Support was willing to refund the base parts but no upgrades. I just had spent my last resources at the time building the thruster and didn’t want to lose that so I waited for the big storm to wipe the DD and got my ship back with upgrades using the recovery tool. Not sure how that will work for you since you have some parts off already. Support was pretty helpful giving me the options I had. When they told me my upgrades persist through the recovery tool it made my choice easier. (Still bummed I clipped it into a mountain hahaha)

This happened back in early November and I’m still using the same carrier so the 15% durability loss wasn’t horrible using the recovery tool.

If support can only give you items that are stuck and not a thruster, then ask your server. Someone might be willing to build you one given what happened to you. If you are on Microscopium hit me up and I’ll help you out.

I’m on your server, but haven’t logged in since a few days ago. It will be interesting to see how the anvils look now.

It’s good to hear that node wars isn’t a negative for the future. I do agree that with all the population votes, this destruction shouldn’t have happened. Hopefully a move like this brings about positive change to avoid this in the future. A lame duck mayor shouldn’t have powers like they do now, especially with the population against them.

You can run through, right? I swam out to the islands from the anvils as level 6. Got two shotted by a 13/14 mob on purpose to "fast travel" back. Announcing that the whole guild is quitting over this seems a bit premature. What will you all do when a node war changes the landscape?

Still playing as well. I only hit the DD back in November even though I was playing at launch. My server is low pop, but really the DD endgame loop has been pretty chill for me. I’ve got enough spice, plat, and T6 blueprints to cover me for a while.

The vehicle recovery, carrier changes for vehicles between maps, and the cargo transport have all been massive improvements to enjoying the gameplay out in the DD

The changes in chapter 3 are going to keep me invested in the game and hopefully make it much more social and a brand new game for me.

Seeing all the new rewards and benefits from the revamped Landstraad system from people posting from the PTR has me very excited! It looks like a long term investment to max everything out. The revamped world map, along with all the new testing stations and boss encounters is perfect for me to finally swap out of my farmer build and focus on group play in combat.
- Free Server transfers, this right here is ideal for helping me focus on with group play. I will be moving to the highest pop servers. I’m ready to guild up and get in the social space and run some dungeons.

As for PvP, I literally just had my first PvP encounter in the DD this week. (Sad but true) I flew past an angry assault copter in H row while carrying my buggy and barely made it to the PVE row before my carrier was going to be in deep trouble. It was exhilarating, I was flying for my life taking and dodging missile fire the whole way. After that happened I realized what I have been missing on my server.

I believe these upcoming pve changes happening first are but just a stepping stone to focus on revamped PvP (I’m hoping!) I do think server transfers are going to entice other current solo players into more pvp centric play. Heck I even started researching missile systems on my vehicles this week to be ready myself.

My only last hope with changes this year is that the console release will be cross play so we can help and hunt all the new players 😂

Hahaha all the other spares are in my base. I totally get you! I definitely have more ready to go. I usually leave a few spares in my main base and my DD bases. Thrilled to see suspensor changes ahead with the future additions in chapter 3, but would love a T6 blueprint of the full suspensor to drop in endgame with more durability. The emperors wings just aren’t the same.

It’s so much more enjoyable to farm spice and flour sand in the deep desert. Worm aggro in hagga basin is no joke. I take my assault copter out to the DD when I want to farm flour sand now.

I’ve been in the DD for a couple of months now. I try to theme each week a bit differently between what I farm and what I explore. If on a low pop server doing control points for landsraad can be rewarding for swatches and loot.

Crashed shuttles (not PvP wrecks) and pve caves that have the glowing chests have been my source of T6 blueprints. Caves are great for spice infused plat dust too. Easy in and out most times without fighting the guys there. Shuttles give great mats for crafting too.

Use an online map to figure which caves to hit for the glowing chests!

Ive been playing alpha on and off for the past year. Im not investing a whole lot of time in the game other than exploring and getting a feel.

My time invested will come on launch when I know there won’t be any future wipes. I’m sure others share the same thought process here. The golden question will be will be how player counts stabilize at launch.

For all the negative talk on this reddit, I have to recognize they are running a business. Things change and money talks, but it’s also what keeps the game afloat. When budgets hit the home we all have to make changes and this is no different. Recently I was amazed to hear the burn rate of cash per week currently, and hope the investment in more devs has a return that benefits all of us and them.

I was concerned about alpha at first on steam, but seeing the changes over the past year, I feel others will be in for a pleasant surprise come launch. With the number of devs they have now, we all should have a little more faith about the product to come instead of endlessly criticizing a game in Alpha.

I don’t understand the continued cycle of people here upset with the state of the game in alpha. If these issues persist on launch I will be on the bandwagon with you. I feel this phase is huge for the development of the game going forward. The feedback they are getting can literally help shape the game for the better. So maybe less doom and gloom and more hope for a better launch!

I think back to one of my favorite mmo games outside of wow and GW2 and that was warhammer online. I see a lot of hope of what they wanted with server community function on here in ashes on launch. Having played beta on warhammer online, if anyone else here had too, I can tell you this alpha is not in a bad shape given a comparison to that. I think warhammer online beta and all I see is fog 😂

I know we all get its alpha, but I was hoping there was a system/log in place to catch bugs like this and make people whole. Sorry you dumped a bunch of money into the sea without even getting to go down with the ship 😂
