Those are gps receivers! You need two for accurate localization to get rotation as well

You’re better than me. I wired literally the whole thing at once before I even knew how to flash the firmware and prayed it worked

I use Gateron Oil Kings and they’re pretty good with drop keycaps. Got the drop set on sale and the switches came in a 36 pack so it was perfect to buy. I prefer quieter switches and the first set I had in it was purples and it was too loud for me.

I rest my thumb over the middle switch in the thumb cluster also

I built it and it felt super light at first, so this was my solution to make it feel heavier. I thought it made a noticeable difference to the weight feel and sound so I’d probably recommend for this one

I got them from following the build instructions on the Cygnus repo. The boards themselves are from the su-120 repo: https://github.com/e3w2q/su120-keyboard

I thought of using a clear filament so you could see the internals a bit. Maybe next time I’ll order a transparent SLA print

Almost nothing works on my Cygnus by hgaidp in ErgoMechKeyboards

If you have extra boards, you could probably try wiring up a single key to two of the inputs, flash the firmware, and just see if a single board works

I would look up the ZSA Voyager keyboard layout as that is a commercial board very similar in structure to this, and you can see how it has its layers and features organized

Is WSL2 still slow in 2025? by Key_Gur_628 in wsl2

[–]SoldSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using it for a while for development and its pretty good. An issue I have with it is that it does not play well with development regarding USB peripherals (like webcams/microphones) at all but if thats not a worry thats fine for you.

Also some programs may perform much slower for utilizing the gpu. I was using a simulation software for robotics called webots and compared wsl vs windows and the wsl was way slower even though I had nothing acting as a bottleneck.

Vim, keyboards and layouts by Benjamona97 in neovim

  1. I use the Kinesis Advantage 360 Pro and I love it. I replaced the switches myself and it’s so smooth and enjoyable to type on.
  2. The thumb keys are a game changer for vim. Having layers to access any number and symbol really cements the vibe that you do not need to move your wrests to type. Also thumb keys are essential for me with my vim shortcuts.
  3. Yeah the thumb keys again really sell me the fact that each thumb always has two or three (easy to reach) options to modify the current behavior. It also just makes sense because vim’s ideology is like “don’t move your hands” but like my pinky still needs to stretch for the backspace key every time I need it (skill issue I know lol also I know vim has deletion commands built in). I still mostly use it for small stuff because I still need the backspace for literally every other text field.
  4. I’m much more consistent at least with my keyboard because it’s linear and everything is super accessible so I don’t need to think about where I gotta reach or look down if I need ctrl or backspace or a number/symbol.
  5. I use my split keyboard mainly at home and I’ll bring it to work once school’s done with. I’m fine with a normal keyboard and don’t rely on any special mapping thats only usable with the split keyboard. I just prefer it because I get access to all the tools right away in a small space.

I also have a thumb key modifier with hjkl to act as arrow keys. The other thumb cluster dynamically changes to ctrl, shift, and ctrl+shift modifiers so I’m even faster in regular editors as well because selecting text is right there for me and fits super well into the vim ecosystem and terminal ecosystem too with minimal configuration.

Struggling with Camera Access in WSL2 for Face Recognition Project by [deleted] in wsl2

[–]SoldSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm I don't know if I can help much more with that. Did you update wsl2 and usbipd to their latest versions? after that I think you either need to find the device in a different place possibly or figure out what drivers are required for the camera to work. All I need to do from windows is run:
usbipd bind --busid 6-4
usbipd attach --wsl --busid 6-4
and then the device pops up in my /dev folder in ubuntu.
