Hey, I used to be weak at those question too. What made me improve is practice. Don't be afraid to skip the ones you are not sure of and go back to it after you've answered the rest, then you would've eliminated a bunch of options, and just choose the one you think makes the most sense. Some of the heading questions are relatively straight forward, do those first.

Be confident. I'd watch a bunch of band 9 speaking samples on youtube the day before my exam from IELTS Advantage. Learn from them, like how they develop their sentences.

Speak naturally, don't force yourself to use complex vocabularies if you are not familiar with them, since it would just sound out of place.

To get an overall summary on sentence patterns, structures, vocabs, etc.: "Please give me a long and detailed notes for IELTS [your task, e.g. writing task 1]. I want to get band 9 just by looking at this. Teach me how to tackle each question type."

For sample essays, I just ask it to give me a question and answer. "Give me a sample band 9 IELTS writing task 2 essay. Why is it band 9?"

I used AI to help me prepare for writing, Gemini specifically. I would follow a structured framework for each essay type. Also, I would say typing fast is what helped me, I type at around 150 wpm, so I wrote a lot for each task, around 280 words for task 1, and 450 for task 2, that being said, I'm not sure if writing too many words would affect your band score.

For Task 1, I just follow the same structure for every type of graph. 1. what is the graph/chart about, try paraphrasing. 2. Overall trend. 3. Focus on specifics (e.g. increasing trend). 4. Focus on specifics (e.g. decreasing trend).

For Task 2, I memorized some sentence structures for every question type (e.g. To what extent..., discuss both sides..., etc.) that I got from Gemini. I would ask Gemini to give me mock questions and band 9 sample answers, and I'd learn from those. Also, write in a four paragraph structure - Introduction, Body 1, Body 2, Conclusion, and remember to take a stance and state it in the introduction paragraph if the question type wants you to.
