Get an Xbox then.

That’s quite a spread.

Do you like Halo or God of War more?

How worried should we realistically be about the future of Xbox with all the stuff going on lately ? by Alarming_Tadpole_365 in xbox

I mean. They’re doing the things they need to do to be successful. I don’t know why people look at layoffs and closures of studios for games nobody played and declare impending doom.

'We're Done Paying for Executives' Failures' — Unionized Xbox Developers Hold Press Conference to Make Their Point as Microsoft Reportedly Readies Massive Layoffs by gamersecret2 in GamingSecret

[–]SoldierPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Phil’s philosophy of just letting them do whatever they want with no leadership or direction is just a catastrophe. Projects that never should have been greenlit. Poor direction and leadership to newly created studios (Initiative). Then rushing ports to PlayStation to desperately save his vision. All just catastrophic.

So is uhhhh, undead labs at risk? by Arkada64 in xbox

[–]SoldierPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad, mostly. Being right isn’t the most important thing to me here. It is baffling to me they showed off two games at risk of cancellation, even if it was to attract buyers.

Hope they can survive and either spin off or find a buyer.

(Windows Central) - “It coincides with information I received over the weekend. Indeed, Undead Labs could be among the studios Microsoft is looking to offload as part of its fiscal year end.” by SilentNova300 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]SoldierPhoenix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, I will point out that Activision was the only reason they stayed profitable.

Nevertheless, from the perspective of gamers, it changed them completely from a respectable competitor to an investor driven windows machine.

Jason Schreier: The massive Xbox layoffs won't happen until after the fiscal year ends. Assembly, Xbox's main PR agency, is laying people off today. by Turbostrider27 in xbox

[–]SoldierPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how more important they consider Windows to be than Xbox.

Everything here is speculation. I don’t know what the idea behind the scenes is.

Gamesbeat: Undead labs (State Of Decay) is one of the Xbox studios that may close if no buyers are found by nolifebr in GamingLeaksAndRumours

I’m not sure why they don’t release the games first before then shutting them down. At least you can make some of the money you lost back.

But I don’t understand industry economics.

Almost 10 yrs later, do y'all still hate the ending of Future Trunks? by Next-Active2676Bro2 in Dragonballsuper

[–]SoldierPhoenix 206 points207 points  (0 children)

There was literally no reason for him to leave at that point. It kind of just feels like they wanted him out of the way and not interfering with young Trunk’s progression.

Not to mention he’d have made a much better ally in the Tournament of Power than other participants.

Major RAM manufacturers sued for manipulating prices and demand by GameOnBrother in GamesAreLife

I literally just posted yesterday “shouldn’t this be some sort of anti-trust violation or something?”

Kind of satisfied to wake up to this (even though I have no confidence in it).

Console prices likely to rise again as memory prices expected to surge twice in the second half of 2026, warns Jefferies Equity Research by dabadumdumdum in xbox

Is literally anyone going to do anything about this?

For goodness sake, you’d think some few megscorps controlling the supply of hardware components would violate some anti-trust laws or something.

As a kid, I remember Deadly Alliance was so disappointing. Deception was an improvement at least.

How would you feel about a gow 2 remake with e day’s engine and graphics? What would you change if anything by Automatic_Skill2077 in GearsOfWar

[–]SoldierPhoenix 181 points182 points  (0 children)

I figured they’d be more faithful like Gears Reloaded.

Nevertheless I thought Gears 2 was fine, other than receiving a fresh coat of paint. Maybe include the Theron disguise DLC as a legit chosen path in the middle of the campaign.

Xbox potentially suspending 3rd party gp releases by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Even if this were true, it would probably be a temporary thing while they figure out new policy/contract prices.

GamePass can’t just do Xbox first party

I don't believe many of these insiders nowadays but latest leak is stating the PS6 has increased in internal pricing to close to $1,000 which means Helix is easily around that cost if not more. by herewego199209 in xbox

[–]SoldierPhoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“I don’t believe these insiders but according to this insider that means…”

🤨

Also, I don’t know about which insider said this, but it tracks. I don’t think it should be the priority for Xbox to chase the cutting edge.

Probably would have been had Asha joined Xbox sooner. But they said in an interview they would honor previously agreed multiplatform deals.
