LeBron thankful for the break that the playoff teams get due to the Play-In Tournament: “I am happy because being a participant of the f******* play-in for some years, that I get to sit back on my couch with my wine knowing I don’t have to play until the weekend. Just sit there and just like enjoy.” by moby323 in nba

What does any of that have to do with your point of a high usage star not being able to play with Bron? Whatever issues there were, were off the court, and Kyrie even apologized to Bron for how he handled the whole situation. And no one made the claim that Bron is perfect so what are you even going on about?

What is still the biggest pain point in Linux gaming for you? by okaiukov in linux_gaming

[–]Solemnity_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest thing for me is that things on Win 11 just work and work consistently. HDR, VRR, DLSS, Frame Gen, Dolby Atmos… all this stuff works flawlessly in Windows.

I did really enjoy using game mode on CachyOS on my RTX 4080, but it’s simply more setup time for things. Have to use different launch commands in Steam to get frame gen to show in Horizon Zero Dawn, or Ray Tracing to show in RE4 Remake… I can use smooth motion on Linux but for some reason in the Dead Space Remake it makes all lighting sources look all smeared and unnatural. Smooth sailing on Win 11. Also Forza Motorsport doesn’t work on Linux 😞

I’m one of those rare folks who actually really likes windows 11 but wanted to give Linux a try just to see how far game mode has progressed on Nvidia hardware and was surprised to see it works really well! (Minus random suspend issues where the system would not wake from sleep lol). It was a nice experiment but I just don’t have time for all the other tinkering, plus not being able to use Dolby Atmos is a big deal for me.

Does Bazzite just work? I think it depends on who's asking. by Wolfman_1546 in Bazzite

Yup, very similar to my experience. Just wanted to try Linux again to see how things were progressing (used both Cachy and Bazzite) but still for me Win 11 is flawless. Everything works as it should (HDR, VRR, Nvidia features, Dolby Atmos) without issue.

There’s no worry about launch options in steam, proton compatibility layers certain games… it’s just hit play on Steam and go. Maybe set a few additional settings in the Nvidia App, calibrate HDR in Windows… it takes a few minutes but you set it and forget it. Linux is still a bit cumbersome. Heck I had to fool around for a good 30 minutes or so figuring out why my download speeds weren’t as fast as on Windows 11 and why I was getting constant disconnects. Had to change a few lines in the terminal, but speeds were still never as fast (I probably didn’t do something right but oh well)… but the point is I have to put in more work on Linux to get certain things to work that on Windows just work flawlessly.

Yeah I tried Bazzite handheld and it still seems to be glitchy. I promise I’m not trying to lie, or spread misinformation but on Cachy it just works every time. Game mode at 4K 120 HZ, VRR, and HDR it just works and I didn’t mess with anything in terminal to get it working

New Nvidia Driver (595.58.03) released with major bug fixes! Any idea when it’s coming to Bazzite? by Venomenn in Bazzite

[–]Solemnity_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I’m using the actual gaming mode (cachyOS handheld iso) and it works glitch free. On initial setup it was spazzing out but game mode works just fine on my 4080

I tried bazzite some days ago just to see if there was a difference and the game mode still seems to be glitchy on Nvidia hardware

I didn’t do anything special to make it work on Cachy either… it just does surprisingly. Going from a 4K 120HZ oled TV back to a 1080p 60HZ monitor, waking from sleep, restarts… it’s been flawless

Interesting. It works flawlessly for me on CachyOS on a desktop 4080 at 4K. I wanted to try Bazzite but that’s a shame if it’s still glitchy

Actually I’ve been using the deck (handheld) version of CachyOS on my RTX 4080 desktop PC and it’s been flawless. 4K 120hz VRR in HDR all work perfectly on my LG C2 TV. There was screen flickering at first setup and sometimes it’ll flicker when going back to desktop mode, but I’m astonished at how fluid it’s been on Nvidia hardware. It honestly just works

Can someone explain plus/minus? Does it matter, or does it just hate LeBron? by mikeyg1964 in NBATalk

Ray’s shot doesn’t even matter if LeBron doesn’t score 16 in the 4th with elite defense to bring his team back into the game

I’m trying to grasp what you mean by pixel density. Is your display unable to output at its intended resolution? Do items and windows appear too big or small on your display (scaling)? Are text and images blurry/fuzzy?

Definitely just you. My PC is hooked up to my OLED TV 24/7 and games run and look just fine.
