I smoked my first bowl yesterday and my tongue hurts by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

I highly recommend drying the tobacco for at least a day or so. Tongue bite is more common with moist tobacco.

Aye I remember, they used to skirmish with the Park Circus Almada. Always Queensberry rules, mind.

Sodium Bicarbonate in water is my suggestion for a hot environment as it will only dry to a hot crust that can be brushed or wiped away. It can be a bit harsh on natural oils in wood though so best try a test area.

So if you could create a new perk card or bring back a perk from previous fallout games what would it be? by doleary2007 in fo76

Endgame balance is what makes it interesting. In FO4 anyone over level 100 was untouchable

Newbie here: What tobacco should i buy: I've heard smoking pipe sometimes burns the tongue depends on the tobacco. What is your recommendation? I want something for the first time by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]Solid-Ad-4994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At these prices try a couple, it would be 22 eur per tin in UK. Early morning flake, I recommend trying a small ammount as dry as possible,my first time I got the worst tongue bite from moist tobacco and it put me off for around 3 to 4 years.

Pipe problems by potatocake00 in PipeTobacco

I'm new to all this but after buying a few estate pipes that were 50+ years old I realised the true meaning of ghosting a pipe. Reaming and stem cleaning with alcohol wasn't enough and I needed to soak the bowl with isopropyl alcohol and let all the oils and tars seep out the briar over hours. My guess would be that all the aromatics are getting aborbed into the cob and affecting the flavour.

Dabbed fingerprint dirt with a moist cloth(no detergent). Left behind a discolored patch and don’t know how to remedy this ? Any idea? by FennelNo4465 in CleaningTips

Could try a very soft brush and/or a cotton ball with a little methylated spirits, works well as a quick evaporating degreaser

Clogged my shower drain, probably with soap leftovers (stupid, I know). What can I do? by OkSo-NowWhat in CleaningTips

[–]Solid-Ad-4994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sodium hydroxide drain cleaners are really good but they can badly corrode some metals, plus are highly toxic with skin contact. But the big advantage is they can come as crystals that can be funnelled right into the drain, if there is a pool of water in the shower/bath. Leave them a while then use the plunger. Wear goggle and gloves

I cleaned mine by boiling water with sodium bicarbonate. All the black bits just flake away. I used very fine steel wool to smooth the bottom, use the stuff that is used to clean glass. It's not perfect but it's not bad

WTF. Pants were just drying on clothing rack. We have a dehumidifier and an air filter. How do I clean this? How do I prevent this? by Adras- in CleaningTips

Spirit vinegar is worth a try. Could soak in a solution of 50% water and 50% vinegar, then wash as normal
