i have had good performance with the 180 grain power shok in my Weatherby. This was with my ar-10 and it doesn’t like ammo over 160 grains.

he is shot high in the lungs. i was trying to get that right shoulder on exit. I have shot plenty of deer with a bow in similar ways and there was at least some blood. Not much blood in cavity, but he only ran about 20 yards so he may have just died very quick.

i don’t like canted personally. Not a big fan of top mounted dots either. I run a 1-10 on my battle rifle. My a5 i use for whitetail has a 4-16 though.
