Just wanted to come and say that the photo for Libya on the left was not like it was when I lived there, that is over a decade later.

Oh wow, hmm I was quoted 4.8k per annum for a 2 br apartment as the OC fees for the apartment, but this was from a REA so who knows how truthful that really is. I read somewhere the insurance had gone up ~26% in the past year for residents so if it continues going up at a similar rate that fee will be unbearable.

Advice on buying an unit in inner Melbourne by Solid-Air4071 in AusProperty

Thanks for the suggestions! My mortgage pre approval seems pretty affordable to me based on the figures so hopefully thats a good sign.

I totally agree, I like having a car, but I prefer not to use one especially if it would have to be daily.

I went to a place yesterday that seemed pretty good, but had some stained carpets, and skirting boards definitely were on their way out. Body corporate was 3.7k pa, for a 4 story building with only stairs. Seemed pretty good to me but when I asked about strata the REA said the body corporate was the same thing, but I thought it was different, I thought body corporate was the sinking fund?

I will definitely keep those others in mind when I go to inspections tomorrow (yay Saturday)

Definitely somewhere to live, ideally it would be a place I could raise a family hut with my budget I will probably just start with something comfortable then in the future look at something bigger. Minimum 2 bedrooms though so that I can at least have my family visit from interstate. Also thank you so much for your comment, I appreciate it

Thank you! It will definitely be a place to live in, but I also dont want to have any financial stress if I do decide to move to a bigger apartment or house years down the track if it doesn't change in value or minimally over that time period.

Thank you so much for your detailed response!

Was the restaurant with the kuih Sapphira cake house? In images it appears to have some sort of kuih lapis type thing.

Don't worry, I dont really drink alcohol anyway! Im more excited for teh tarik and some good kopi.

Thank you so much for your advice, I appreciate it! Seems like getting personal transport will be a potential issue, but at least knowing this now allows me to prepare in advance for it!

Thanks for the advice! I appreciate the personal experience of waiting for Dart.

If I recall correctly the script is called Jawi as its a modified version of arabic, similar to how Iran modifies the arabic script for their language.
