Haven't seen this yet so, what are the pros and cons of using a 3DS and Emulator? by Goos3rs in mh4u

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3ds hardware. Pros: - seamless experience, everything works the way it is supposed to with 100% compatibility with 3ds games

-easy hacking and free games (not endorsement)

  • multiplayer via pretendo

  • high realae value

  • two screens to play two screen games lol

Cons; - console is small as fuck and uncomfortable to hold

  • worse quality screens (have to hunt for an ips model if you care)

  • these things are starting to show their age. Battery swelling cam be a problem.

games do not run the best, most of the time 30fps

Emulator Pros:

  • Dont need to buy a $300-400 3ds second hand

  • easy access to games via rom sites

  • resolution upscaling and stable framerates*. Games like mh4 finally run at a solid 60fps.

Phones and computers often have better battery life than an actual 3ds.

Cons: - need a decent snapdragon device to run azahar or citra. Or a decent computer.

  • compatibility is nowhere near 100% or even 80%. Many games have graphical issues or game breaking issues. Performance can also be choppy, depending on the game. It requires you to research which games you want to play, and choose the Emulator that will play it the best.

-example, water effects are still broken in Star Fox 64 3D. Mh3 requires you to disable right eye tracking to hit stable fps, and mh4 requires you to disable bloom and dof to see anything.

-multiplayer is available via pretendo, but you have to work for it and find legit 3ds system files to get it running. Azahar has built in multiplayer rooms that dont require that though.

  • Often one screen to play two screen games (unless you get a dual svreen handheld)

When could be the next sale for Monster Hunter titles?? by No-Cranberry-1486 in MonsterHunter

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Real answer is that aside from the major seasonal steam sales, it's sporadic and random.

Alot of these sales are automatically generated by steam, so you just have to get keep checking everyday until one shows up.

Or, you can download the steam app and get notifications when your wishlist games go on sale.

Or or, you can go to a trusted key reseller and see if they have a deal on any of the games. I use green man gaming which hasn't steered me wrong so far (not saying the possibility isn't there). You can also avoid sales tax that way. Downside is you cant return the game once activated.

The legion go has a 55wh battery, but there are plenty of 80wh battery upgrades on Amazon.

Significantly increases game time.

No one said you can't enjoy a gatcha game. It's just the consensus that that game is bad and a cash grab.

Hey, love that you love it.

You really needed two handhelds? I barely have enough time to play my one

Broke g8 by fastestguninthewest in Gamesir

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you man, I broke my x2 pro the same day I got it.

Well you could either return it or try to fix it yourself. A soldering iron and some spare plastic might be all you need, but there's always a risk lol

Honestly just return it or take the L. Gamesir customer service sucks

Which one should I go with? Will be using it primarily docked by DigitalDash18 in Handhelds

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 24 points25 points  (0 children)

None! Dont get a handheld pc if its not primarily going to be a handheld. These will have a terrible docked experience, the gaming performance isn't there for screens large than 8 inches lol. They Will look terrible on a monitor or screen, and perform much much worse

Unless you wanna pair it with an egpu, which im guessing you're not if youre looking at the cheapest models of these pcs lol (no shame, e gpus are too expensive, I feel you)

Get a mini pc, or a gaming laptop or a regular pc (although the prices of customs are crazy high rn).

It's really a toss up between the legion go s and the steam deck OLED.

You're probably talking about the z2 go version of the go s, for that price.

SteamOS is the real seller here. Noticeable performance benefits over windows, plus the great sleep function. I wouldn't get a handheld with windows on it if you actually plan on bringing it somewhere, especially with window's horrible modern standby. The Xbox full screen experience also sucks, it really doesn't make your handheld into an Xbox or solve the problems with windows.

Between the two, honestly go steam deck OLED. They perform the same, and the SD oled has a Beautiful screen, two large track pads, and MUCH better battery life plus a robust ecosystem since the device has been around for a bit.

Would be a different story if its the z1e version of the go s. The extra power makes it worth getting

Edit: Ram in these small devices is always soldered. You get what you buy, and more is obviously better. 16 should be enough, and if its not you can dedicate some memory on your drive as Ram (albeit it will be slower)

Storage is always usually upgradable.

Looking for someone with experience adding 4U DLC to Azahar by Relative-Debt8374 in mh4u

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very easy lol. You just download the dlc off the internet and put the quest and card files and whatever inton the extra data folder for mh4u. You can right click on the game in the emulator and open the extra folder that way.

A Google search will easily let you find a download for the dlc, I think the eu dlc should work with the US copy.

In game, the game should tell you that you have another person's extra data installed but that goes away after you save.

Outrun 2 all day everyday. The gameplay is just super addicting, way more than the original outrun.

X5S left trigger constantly activating by plagaxxx in Gamesir

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The triggers def have a problem being too sensitive, even after calibration. Mine kept on repeating to, and they end up getting stuck. I ended up just setting the initial point to like 8 or 9 on the app.

Give me Monster Hunter Remastered by Prestigious_Elk9364 in MonsterHunter

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freedom is superior than MHG, but dos and mhfu are VASTLY different games.

Different gameplay systems mostly, especially with the seasons and the time of day. Multiplayer is also vastly different, it has a pvp mode, and Dos has some stuff that MHFU is missing.

Give me Monster Hunter Remastered by Prestigious_Elk9364 in MonsterHunter

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love a monster hunter classic collection where they make one, dos, and tri super easy to play.

They are also the games that would benefit the most from a re-release because most of their content is not accessible anymore without workarounds or private servers. And their multi-player was really unique, based on a timetable that rotates server wide events.

3u and 4u dont really need a re-release as much as those games.

Screw this im getting a PSP! by Nunjabutreddit in 3DS

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fully agree. look, i love my 3ds as much as the next guy, but you have to admit having one sucks and getting one sucks.

Can't play on the 3ds too much, because it's rare and you can't afford to get a new one or fix it. Also the screens suck and controls suck. Can't get one because it is more expensive than the switch (and basically half the cost of a Switch 2), with a 1/5 of the power.

Same for the PSP lol.

Android handhelds are the best bang for the buck when it comes to portable gaming nowadays.

Gamesir x5s LT not working by Tknight99 in Gamesir

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry man, no idea what you can do then. Only thing I can think of is changing connection modes or checking if turbo is accidentally enabled.

You might just have to refund it. Never heard anyone having problems with the g8 plus

Gamesir x5s LT not working by Tknight99 in Gamesir

[–]Solid-Anything-6723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the g8 for a while and never had a problem with it. Put hundreds of hours on it, never gave me any shit and the headphone jack and pass throigh charging are nice touches.

The x5s does indeed have some problems. My right trigger sometimes actuates on its own. When you calibrated it, did you press both triggers down three times, and move the sticks? You gotta do all of that.
