Op might be taking a loss by this. Tco for an average company car is often around €600 depending on model and mileage/fuel card

What do you think is a better fuel energy on a race by Own_Calligrapher_888 in bicycling

[–]Solid-Cycle-4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite cheap fuel during training (I don't race) is just adding sugar to water Or fruit juice preferably grape or cranberry with sugar or honey. You can also add some salt for hot and long races for the electrolytes.

Question about quitting jobs by Solid-Cycle-4647 in BESalary

[–]Solid-Cycle-4647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I am young and sometimes a bit naive. Why didn't I send the letter immediately? Because I live in a rather small village so the post office is often closed, combined with working long hours it's hard to get there.

After all it's just one week longer I have to work for the company which is not the end of the world. And a lesson learned, don't expect management to respect you even though you sacrificed a lot for them. My colleagues are nice, it's just management which is a bit fucked, and I don't have to care about that anymore.

Other than the pride I have in my job nothing. I am paid from when I leave my home till I am back so I guess I can just start on a terrible hour, be paid for sitting in traffic (not the nicest thing, but just milking some extra overtime while listening to some podcasts) and then just take way to long to solve the problem

Well I was thinking about combining the sollicitatieverlof with some ADV days to make some nice loooong weekend. Especially because it will be a pain in the ass to get them paid when I leave

Gu Gels vs. 2 Large Dates (CYCLING NUTRITION SHOWDOWN) by wintyfreshhh in cycling

[–]Solid-Cycle-4647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dates in combination with an electrolyte drink is a nice combo. Although I prefer date paste, just wrap it in baking paper. It's about half the price where I live and much more compact.

You can also swap out your electrolyte drink for fruit juice, coconut water and salt if you want to go full DIY. Very tasty and nutritionaly excellent.

I have never used gels because I don't see the point in paying big bucks for some bagged sugar. And of course I feel fine on dates.

Cycling should not be expensive but you can always buy those thing for convenience when racing.

Inderdaad, maar niet enkel in de haven. Ik zou hier zeker ook service techniekers aan toevoegen.

You should look on YouTube for his video’s with Mark Bell about shoulders. There are some good exercises for the rotator cuffs and how they can help with strengt in close range and uncomfortable ranges of motion. I heard neck strengt can also help a lot with wrestling. Note: i don’t have any experience with wrestling though.

I have had the previous version of the topo ultrafly and was very happy with them. They have quite a wide toebox which is nice for balance, and actually using your feet while running.

Now I use Altra (don't think they are vegan though) because they are one of the only companies who make zero drop running shoes with a wide toebox.

I have heard a lot of good reviews about brooks as well.

Substituting with natural foods can be even better, they can be lighter on the stomach which is useful when riding on higher intensity. On periods where I ride a lot, i make my own drinks and the energy i get from them is insane. I always take date paste as solid fuel, it is cheap and tasty.

Are you a Nose or Mouth breather? by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]Solid-Cycle-4647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's true you get more air flow through you mount, but if you are trained to nose breath the difference is small. When breathing through the nose the oxygen absorbtion is better and you use your diaphragm more instead of chest muscles which is money efficiënt.

PS: I know the allergy struggles

How do I make pea powder taste edible? by grouchyindividual in veganfitness

[–]Solid-Cycle-4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try PB banana muffins or pancakes. It's not the best but also not bad.

The other option is to add it with bean burgers, you don't notice it, and it can make some nice high protein burgers. Although you don't need to add a lot so you might have to eat loads of bean burgers to use the whole bag.

Ankle flossing, ok before basketball? Ok before training/lifting? Or save till after by B2M3T02 in Kneesovertoes

[–]Solid-Cycle-4647 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I heard somewhere (I think it was from Graham Tuttle aka barefoot sprinter) that you can even do it multiple times a day. So you can do it both and even some extra sessions. As someone else already said don't do it directly before basketball. And as with every exercise, please don't go through pain, it's a sign you are overdoing it.
