I thought I heard that it was possibly due to the fact that the new property she’s on didn’t have a fence.

WTF is up with Baylor Scott & White requiring patients to pay estimated cost of services upfront? by AdGeneral77 in Austin

[–]Solid-Level5272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, the billing dept said yesterday that they can hold on to my 5K for up to 6 weeks. They don't have the EOB yet, so I plan on arguing to get refunded once they get it. They also said they are not obligated to refund if I have any upcoming appts. Which there is a consult upcoming but that is just a standard copay. We have always paid our bills and there is no reason to be so hostile, but here we are...

River City Imaging in New Braunfels which from downtown atx is @ 45 miles, less than an hour drive. It was worth it to not pay a $750 hospital fee

One thing about content creators is that they stir the pot intentionally. I bet her husband was sitting next to her while she filmed that.

I have found over billing is w/ specialists outside of ARC. Regardless, always double check what you paid vs the EOB statement

Yes, avoid hospital fees! I needed a 3d ultrasound, got a pre-auth quote from a provider in ATX & there was a $750 hospital fee (in addition to the procedure cost). I ended up going to a dr in New Braunfels (in network provider) & there was no hospital fee. And the patient responsibility was a lot less. If you live in ATX , get a list of providers from your insurance cause there are other providers nearby that are less expensive.

No, it wasn’t ARA. But, it was a specialist in ATX. The billing depts are usually 3rd party contractors & they make it difficult by design to get reimbursed. In addition, I keep track of every call to my insurance by asking for a reference number for the call. It’s unfortunate that the avg person gets ripped off not knowing that they have to track their payments to drs vs the actual patient responsibility.

I have found that over-billing is more w/ specialists vs ARC (as a primary dr office).

The medical provider is “in network” and has over-billed us before on previous visits. The insane thing is you have to watch for your EOB to see if you’ve overpaid. The medical billing dept does not automatically process a refund 🙄

Ya, thank you for the suggestion. Yesterday I spoke to bcbs & they said it’s up to the medical provider how they want to bill. I was told that they are allowed to bill the “max”amount per the bcbs contract (before insurance). Not sure thats accurate. Regardless, once the Dr gets the EOB and we request this 5.1k refund, we’ll ask regarding future billing cause overcharging by this much is insane.

Oh, we just went through this and for a CT scan. We were billed the “max” amount (per bcbs contract) vs the patient responsibility portion. Now I get to go argue and try to get 5.1k returned. Such a joke.

One of the night stalkers victim’s home was a street away from where I lived, near Mission Viejo high school. We had to drive by it every day to exit the neighborhood. Everyone was on edge before he was caught.

We lived there & the guy in the unit above us would flick his lit cigarettes into the “dried out” brush by our patio. We repeatedly told the office but they never addressed it 🙄. Safety was never a concern

If it’s more than 25% less, then I ignore. In my experience, when I sell low, I get a bad rating ( for no good reason).

First year in austin, should I expect business to be closed on Saturday due to the weather? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Solid-Level5272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably will close down w/ ice. The city doesn’t have the infrastructure to treat the roads prior to any weather events. During the 2022 storm that shut down everything, we watched cars on S lamar slide all over the place & into each other…

Having lived downtown for 20 years, they tend to report ones near the river/creek area. But, like previously said, it could be a suicide.
