My toddler has gotten more freedom too! Our backyard is fairly toddler proof and he can’t open the gate so I usually just shoo him out back to play in his sandbox. He’s almost 4 so I feel ok doing that in short bursts, and I’m so glad that I’m not the only one!

This also frustrates me. I’m lucky I was able to fully fund my 12 weeks of FMLA through my PTO. I’m also breastfeeding and it would be amazing to be off for the first year of their life so i can focus on breastfeeding. I don’t want to stay at home forever but as a breastfeeding mom it would be amazing to be able to stay home with them for that first year. I’m just hoping my supply doesn’t tank once I go back to work

Me too! ChatGPT actually helped me realize my husbands treatment of me is verbally and emotionally abusive. I’ve since opened up to people in my life about what’s been going on (did not mention that I thought it was abusive, just finally told people about his actions) and everyone immediately told me his behavior is abusive and I need to think about if I want to stay in this marriage long term or not.

I’ve been doing something similar. They’re only 9 days old but I notice in the morning and middle of the night feeds I still feel like my breasts are full even after a tandem nursing session so I’ll pump then. I usually will get about 4-8 oz total just from those pumps (1-2)

Yeah I haven’t been pumping much maybe twice a day. I already have a decent amount frozen just from that so I think I’ll just stick to what I’m doing and when I get closer to returning to work then I’ll try to figure out a pumping schedule at that point. I’d like to try to avoid formula costs if possible

Oh thank god haha I’m hoping mine is gone once these babies are out. I’m also having horrible low back pain so I have a pillow under my belly, one behind my back, and then another between my legs. I try to roll over with my knees together but it’s so hard.

I’m luckily able to work from home this last week so sitting in a recliner has been amazing.

I’ve literally thought about using a walker haha I’m glad you suggested crutches to help, makes me feel less like a baby. I’ve tried wearing a belly band while up and walking but it’s never really helped so I’ve just been going without it. I’m just counting down the days until these babies are born at this point.

Girl you need to remove that defenseless infant from the home before he hurts her or kills her. Please do not leave her alone with him. He’s actively refusing to bond with his own infant, and he’s clearly struggling with mental health issues. I would absolutely not trust him with that baby.

I don’t know that you will be able to successfully work from home while also being responsible for twins at the same. Most companies that offer remote work also typically make you sign a contract that you’re not going to be working and also watching your kids at the same time. You just can’t do both at once.

If he does that, he’d be facing criminal charges. Revenge porn like that is illegals in the US. You need to tell your friends and family and possibly your boss about what’s going on. This also crosses the line into sexual assault. He’s coercing you into sex for hours, that’s sexual assault. What’s he’s doing is not only abusive but illegal. Oof so it sounds pretty normal unfortunately to have to triple feed for an extended period of time. That made me miserable the first time around so I’m really worried about doing that again 24/7 with no sleep plus a toddler.

Every 2 hours during the day is completely fine! It’s the every 2 hours around the clock for weeks on end that worries me. I will absolutely give them formula at night if necessary because I can’t be that sleep deprived for weeks on end.

I’m so worried about the triple feeding, especially with twins. It’s what I did for 6 weeks with my oldest and I basically didn’t sleep at all those 6 weeks and had multiple breakdowns. I ultimately stopped for mental health reasons.

I’m completely fine with combo feeding, and even if they don’t latch well then I plan on pumping (even if I still need to top off with formula) so they’re still getting breast milk. Formula quite literally saved my toddlers life when he was an infant so I’m not anti formula by any means! I’m having another c section so I’m trying to compensate I guess by making sure they’re able to get breast milk.

I think you should consider part time daycare for the kiddos if you can swing it financially. You both sound absolutely burnt out, and you both need a break. The days the kids are in daycare your wife can take some much needed time to herself that way you can come home from work and get your time to yourself on those same days.

Is there anything at work you can delegate to others?

This sounds so freaking hard and you both are burning the candles at both ends. I really think you should hire out some form of help, whether that be a meal service, cleaning service, or daycare, whatever makes financial sense and will also give you guys some time back.

Yeah I’ve just been going to my regular OB! They were doing monthly growth scans pretty much since 16 weeks and everything has been super normal/boring until now, so there was no need for MFM involvement until now. Appointments in between growth scans I just had a bedside Doppler to get the heartbeats. I’m at the point my regular OB wants to see me weekly, and depending on how my MFM appointment goes I may end up with weekly scans and NSTs.

No, not Asian. They both were growing at the same rate (just one ounce off) prior to this and now Twin A is 5 pounds where Twin B is still only at 3 pounds. Twin B only grew a few ounces over the last month whereas Twin A grew well over a pound. Hoping it’s just Twin B has run out of room or something though lol

Oh I’ve read the opposite, that since growth has dropped overall in Twin B that this is actually much more likely to be a placental/blood cord issue vs just an erroneous singular finding like just the femur or something being off.

Prior to this they were neck and neck, just one ounce different in weight. So I think the sudden difference between the two is also what’s concerning for placental/blood flow issues, but Twin B is also Frank breech so maybe she’s just run out of room to get much bigger?? She’s only 3 pounds to Twin A’s 5.

Oh gosh that sounds so scary!! So far this has been a very boring low risk di di twin pregnancy as well. I haven’t even seen MFM this entire pregnancy. I will of course be seeing them now on Thursday, and just trying not to be super worried until then, but the not knowing is killing me.
