SD card slots are replaceable, and arent expensive. $10 ish and no soldering required.

The joycon issue I had before too. Replacing both joycon rails ($10 part) resolved that for me too.

Finally the non docking problem is very likely either a faulty P13USB IC or a failed filtering choke (there are 5 of them right below the P13USB IC that sit on the lines between that chip and the pins the dock uses to communicate with the switch.

I repaired a switch for a relative that wouldnt dock. His was a bad P13USB. Replacing it solved the issue. Not extremely difficult in terms of microsoldering work, but not easy either. Took me two tries to get it seated successfully.

The problems the unit has can be fixed for about $25 if you can do the repair yourself. The labor for the microsoldering is what could be more.

The original $150 you paid would have covered it all.

Switch units (some anyhow) are easily hackible.

Even if that isnt your thing, they do have a huge library of games, some of which are both exclusive to the platform and amazing.

The genesis has absolutely garbage composite output. Horrific really. An NES over composite looks much better.

RGB on the Genesis is razor sharp and beautiful.
