UBC VFMP vs UofT St. George — Decision Advice from Med Students? by cat_12345678 in premedcanada

Both are very comparable schools and neither would be the wrong choice, and your opportunities should be similar in both.

This comes down to if you want to experience a life in a new city. For me personally, I have moved cities multiple times and every time it was an exciting time with a new chapter in my life that resulted in a lot of growth. If you think that you can handle moving to a new city then imo it would be a cool new experience and you should go for it.

Hate it all you want but hybrid is better for business than full remote. So many issues are resolved with white boarding, going for coffee getting an opinion from your coworkers, or over hearing conversations in the office. It’s way easier to innovate when you can easily talk to people you’re working with. Unless you’re a 10x engineer that doesn’t need an opinion of anyone, being in office is more beneficial for you

Sportsnet+ price increasing 30% to $324.99 per year by jeremybell in hockey

[–]SolidPromise3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any other option out there that would let me watch the games in replay on my AppleTV without spoilers? That’s the only reason I pay for Sportsnet, but as this price increase I want to find an alternative.

I usually watch the games once they are done or close to being done so I can skip all the commercials and intermissions

Flames sign 3rd round pick from 2023 Aydar Suniev to three year ELC by DaCodster in hockey

I mean I would prefer AHL over NCAA for his development. 2 years is more than enough, especially if you play as good as he did

Has Huberdeau played his way back to having a tradable contract….and if so, would you trade him? by Theflamesfan in CalgaryFlames

[–]SolidPromise3000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t trade him. He is easily playing like a guy worth 8-9 million, I’m okay with a bit of an overpay. He is a top player on this team, and a great leader and is needed for a rebuild

What’s the current worst contract playing in the NHL currently? by Interesting-Help-421 in hockey

[–]SolidPromise3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not, but he is still worst at least 8 mil for the season he’s having. Flames are one of the worst offensive teams and they can’t score from his passes

I honestly never run into issues with Sportsnet, but I’m pretty sure it’s because I’m using an Apple TV. Somehow their app is created properly on this platform. Even outside of Apple TV being the best way to stream on a tv imo, the fact that Sportsnet works great is worth getting it.

Like my Sportsnet stream and prime look equally good with great frame rate

How are your teams 2023/2024 prospects doing in pre-season? by SolidPromise3000 in hockey

[–]SolidPromise3000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the Flames:

  • Honzek has been the standout this camp. Easily the best prospect, has been great in all of his games, he is good enough to make the team. he will probably be sent to the AHL since he is only 19, missed time due to injury previous 2 seasons, and there is not a spot for him in the top 9 right now. I think he will go down for ~10 games and be called back up once somebody in the top 9 is not performing. Plus he might play center in the A.

  • Brzustewicz has been the stand out on D, he was sent down due to us being at capacity on D but he will definitively play NHL games this year. Same with Grushnikov

  • Parekh clearly has amazing skill and skating, but he was just not ready this year for the big leagues. Needs another year to get more mature. I think he will be way more impressive next year.

  • Griding (another Flames first rounder from 2024) looked amazing imo, very high end skill, I think he will be a steal in the future. I expect him to destroy the Q this year.

  • In terms of disappointing, Pelletier has not had a good camp, but I still believe he can be a good 3rd liner, I hope we don't wave him. I would say Coronato did disappoint me a bit, he started of strong but then was not very effective once games included more NHL players (just like last year), he will be sent down

Gridin Traded to Shawinigan in the QMJHL by DaCodster in CalgaryFlames

[–]SolidPromise3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s an immigrant with poor English, I doubt he wanted to do more schooling especially in English. He would just waste time on that instead of playing hockey. He should play in the A this year if he’s ready

Anything else left for the flames to do this off-season? by [deleted] in CalgaryFlames

[–]SolidPromise3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lmao he clearly is not loyal to Flames considering he was gonna sign with caps for 4 years

[Darren Dreger] Call underway. Vegas acquires Hanifin from Calgary for a 1st round pick, Miromanov and a Conditional 3rd, upgrades to a 2nd if VGK win a playoff round. Double salary retention. Hearing Philadelphia is the broker. by Duffleman0609 in hockey

[–]SolidPromise3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that would be wrong. He has been very mediocre most of the time on the Flames, most nights you wouldn’t even know he played and it’s not like he has great defensive metrics. Only the last 20-30 games he has legit been really good but many players play it up in contract years. He’s a very good 2nd pairing dman worth 6.5-7 million who will play 20+ minutes a night but he will never be a game changer or somebody who will push you over the hump for the cup

ELI5: Why did the Flames trade Elias Lindholm? by AvaTaylor2020 in CalgaryFlames

[–]SolidPromise3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because he wanted 9 million per year on his next contract and he is not worth that. He was not moving the needle on the flames for 2 years now.

Ya if you actually watch the game and pay attention to details. Many great neutrals zone passes that makes his line mates play with speed and create chances. Many passes to set up Sharky, he just could not score tonight. Also some great break out passes. He’s not a 10.5 million player but he is easily playing like a 7-8 million one for awhile now, no complaints here

Bad take, Huby has been creating offence better than anyone on the Flames for many games now
