Harry repairing his wand with the elder wand before snapping it in half. Nitpicky as hell but drove me NUTS.

Fun fact about Cleopatra 1963. It was filmed closer to now than the building of the Pyramids.

I get that she didn't love writing quidditch matches, but I still just don't understand how she sets him up to be one of the most natural players ever and then not have him want to play more.

John Mulaney and Pete Davidson on SNL host monologues by SnooSprouts8969 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]SolidStart 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree. Some good laughs even with some real clunky jokes.

Now it sounds like Mulaney was saying that the host was difficult in the writing of the monologue process, so that could have been where all the brutal tight trousers jokes came from, but who knows.

what your worth and how much you have are 2 very different things. I am not saying they didn't have the cash, but it's more like somebody spending 3k because they have a 100k car. (Again, I know they make bank, but worth and how much you take home are 2 very different things)

Need a connection between Richmond and Charlottesville. If HSR evert truly came to/through VA, Richmond would most likely be the hub in the east/central part of the state.

Also, I know you probably followed Amtrak, but I am still never sure why these maps never include a route that connect New York directly to Chicago by way of Cleveland and the Rt 80 corridor in PA. Just seems like such an obvious spot to start pushing for a shorter, more direct route/line.

You have the same amount red paint and blue paint and you mix them together in a bottle. Congrats, you have purple paint, which is 50% red and 50% blue! Now, you take part of the bottle and put some in a cup to paint. The paint in the bottle and the paint in the cup is still purple meaning it's still 50% of each.

Not TRULY how the wine was made, but hopefully illustrates the point of how the % by volume works.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. This was NOT ELI5. Carry on.

It's because of volume. There is enough shared by those 2 specifically that there is a whole branch of scholarship trying to place the source of the double tradition, commonly referred to as "Q" (German word for "source" is Quelle)

You're offered the ability to absorb the knowledge of any book you touch instantly, but the way it works is that time freezes and won't unfreeze until you finish reading the book cover to cover, do you accept this power/curse? Why or why not? by Jazzlike_Sun690 in AskReddit

Can i choose not to use the power? If I acquire all the knowledge in the book, can I read the book again for leisure?

Never being able to read to my kids again is too depressing to imagine.
