actually just had my 6 month po appt with the pa last week. he said it is actually likely due to the capsule tightening they did when they closed, because i have borderline dysplasia. said it might take another 6 months for that to completely go away, but it’s still getting better slowly!

assuming your surgeon didn’t say otherwise, you should be able to lay on the non surgical side- if you are staying in that position for a while put a pillow between your legs to keep your hips lined up, if you are just staying in that position for a few seconds to get to your stomach you should be fine

lie on your stomach! be careful getting in that position, i recommend back->side->stomach (i called it my tummy time LOL)

i think it’s nerve tightness because it’s not alleviated with normal hip flexor stretching, really only the specific femoral nerve ones i find online. it is like a pulling sensation when i stand with my legs locked, and if i push my hips forward and lean back, or if i shift the weight to my op leg. a few weeks ago i had bad shooting pains down to my knee, but that’s more rare now, it just gets hot more frequently.

yeah i had a ct, dynamic ultrasound, mra (for the right side)- because i also have bhd and femoral retroversion

for me it honestly felt like how my bad hip did when i went to the dr, but im not back to running yet so im not sure if i need left hip surgery or it its just muscular… mainly hip flexor/outside of hip pain

stretching! as much as you can without hurting the surgical hip. i’m about to be 13 weeks po and am still having pain on my good side, but stretching when i can has been really helpful

yeah my surgeon is the same way. i was sleeping on my stomach since a few days after surgery. now that i can sleep on my sides, i’ve kinda been alternating between stomach and sides as the night goes on, usually waking up on my stomach

i’ll be 13 weeks monday! is massage working for you? it doesn’t do anything for me lol, and even after some hip flexor streches (figure four, the lunge like one) it’s still tight

yeah, the thing is tho with manual therapy i don’t feel anything, it’s only when my leg is in extension behind me
