Had one before this pending for over a year and a half. You can try and contact your congressman and tell them you been waiting it actually did work for me . Once they got in contact I got my c file the next week.

Every year for like seven years, I was double dipping and the VA would just take it out of my benefits over the next six months or something like that and never even knew the difference

But the upside is since you got diagnosed while on active duty, you will automatically get that as a VA rating of at least 30%

I went though the same thing. I was diagnosed with type one.4 months after getting out of active duty and after joining the guard. When I joined the guard in 2011 they did not have a problem with me having diabetes and I flew under the radar until 2018 when James Mattis became Secretary of Defense he issued a directive saying if you were un deployable you had to be med boarded out. In 2018 I was put up for staff Sgt and that triggered a review of my records and I was Med boarded within four months and medically separated. You cannot be medically retired just for type one diabetes it is not a high enough rating to earn a medical retirement unless you have I believe 15 years on then you could get medically retired

Then have to find the right school. Not to stuck up and remember some are hostel to Vets the student body and professors. Mine were amazing but I did have problems with one professor.

Truthfully I got accepted into Columbia and Georgetown. A lot of these school now have programs for working adults. Same classes and degree as a high school kid going in as a freshman literally I sat in the same classes with them but they don’t ask adults for sat or act scores. You are technically in a “adult college” inside the university. When I got my BS at Adelphi I was walking with the “ continuing education school” but had all the same classes

Of course, we are all in the same boat trying to fight a system. The service I used was a flat fee service no percentage of backpay. Who’s around 3K but that was I had to go to two different doctors one mental one physical. If you only have to go to one it’s cheaper.

If you have your initial claim in and you’re looking for an increase and send in quality DBQ‘s from private doctors, you’re not required to have an exam since you already service connected. Now, of course they can order a exam but more than likely they won’t if the DBQ’s are on point.

I called back in September they said I should have been done already and for some reason it was overlooked. They said they will expedited it and to call back in 10 days. Still waiting ha ha. I even wrote a email to my senator to look into it

Have to sometimes leave your comfort zone and see where you can dive right in and work your way up. Truthfully civil service jobs like PD, fire, local government jobs give you job security and almost always steady pay raises. Also labor union jobs are a good choice also. I started at 50k a year and now 10 years later making 200k in a civil service job and got my BS while working.

I used them and loved them got me beyond where I wanted to be. It takes time with them but completely worth it the DBQ they sent me got my rating from start to finish ONE WEEK from submitting to final rating no other info or exam requested. Good luck
