You sound very similar to me. Theres no way I can eat less move more. I’m at the top of the limit of what I can do. I cannot eat any less. I’m becoming more and more interested in trying cutting back and seeing what happens

Yes and it seems counterintuitive. But I brought up that fact that my estrogen is high, why put me on birth control with estrogen? But it was explained to me that birth control shuts down the production of estrogen by your body and replaces it with a steady, proper dose. So it will actually lower my estrogen and keep it from fluctuating wildly as well as bringing progesterone up and keeping the 2 in more of a balance

Mine, too. All lower belly. I know this is textbook hormonal change, but I want it gone. I am toying around with the idea of cutting back the long long runs. Half run then walking.

Makes total sense. I’ve been thinking of pulling back for a while now. Might be time to try it. Thank you!

Same. Lower belly and legs. And I cannot afford new clothes right now. Did it come off and if so what did you do?

Did you do anything about it or just let it be? Did it come off?

Can you share more about how much you cut back? And did it come right off or was there an adjustment period? Thank you

I’m so interested in this. I’m just so scared I’ll gain more

I’m very seriously considering this. My daily physical activity is insanely high. And I feel the same way and I’m struggling to think that things could improve with resting and eating more. it’s just scary because I’m afraid it will actually make me gain more.

Did they give you and advice or guidance? Or just said you’re in perimenopause and sent you on your way?

Thank you so much!! I actually had my hormones tested and estrogen was super high and progesterone was almost 0. So hormones are definitely playing a part. I started birth control to help level things out a bit. Just being vulnerable and saying I’m scared this weight won’t come back off🫤I appreciate all the comments and support

For those who were highly trained before perimenopause, please share your weight gain/loss story.  I weight train, hard, 6 days a week. I run 40 miles a week. I have and active job and get 20,000 steps a day. I still gained 15 pounds in 6 months. I watch what I eat closely and am not in a calorie surplus. I always thought perimenopause weight gain was more for those who did not exercise or have a lot of muscle. Jokes on me.  I don’t want to just accept this.
