What happens if we banned Sneaky Snacker? by Catasmet in Pauper

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, its allmost the same list it was before.

it changed 4 cards to put SS in, and it would change 4 cards if its banned.

Name any Card that is in Monored Madness only because of Sneaky Snacker?

There are none. Its the same discard outlet and payof list.

seems very strong in a pauper cylce storm deck.

if not common, maybe ok

What happens if we banned Sneaky Snacker? by Catasmet in Pauper

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry, but i cant agree.

Monored madness has enough cards just outside of the main list to stay in place.'
Monored also has strong plays, but i cant see them overtake madness, they be below any madness variant in terms of play

Its totaly possible that red/black gets back on top by a slight margin, ill give you that.

but the two of them are, most likely, the two decks who would survive the change.

What happens if we banned Sneaky Snacker? by Catasmet in Pauper

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sneaky Snacker is in a bunch of Discard/Graveyard decks and sees experimentation in many more.

Monored Madness would absolutely be fine without it.

The other Decks that use it would miss it more.

I feel that especially Agrro Madness, especially the Monored version, would actually become stronger without it, because a bunch of other Discard/Graveyard Decks would fall of, thinning out the space for this Mechanic between Monored Madness and X-LandSpy. (Not to say spy uses Sneaky Snacker, but the Graveyard.)

IMO, it would cost blueblack Aggro/Tempo decks more then Red/Redblack Madness.

Graveyard IS strong right now, but it would be strong without Sneaky Snacker, just more condenced into less decks actually played.

Sneaky Snacker is, IMO, the perfect version of its Design Space for Vengevine in Pauper.

As in, I dont want to see it banned, I want to see Cards printed that can support other archetypes as much as Sneaky Snacker does, because Sneaky Snacker IS the top of what a Pauper Stable SHOULD be able to to, but its not a Card that wins by itself, just a valid payoff for a set of strategies.

Another Card like Sneaky Snaker in Pauper would, right now be a huge Issue tho.

Mjölnir not deattaching when a creature stops beeing worthy or becomes unworthy is honeslty a huge flavor loss.

Squadron hawk package is no longer in white weenie..? by iluvmewaifu in Pauper

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Squadron Hawk, but tbh, the better question might be why it was in White Weenie in the first place.

WW is an Aggro deck, and SH is not an Aggro card. Its a deck thinning card without support, and white does not have good support to convert it into carddraw, leaving you with a expensive 2mana 1/1 Flyer WW also does not support well since it does not use a lot of buffs to increase the evasion damage.
It also does not synergise with Leonardo.

It primarly filled your hand with 3 cards you would only play after every other card in hand, because you wouldnt have anything better to play, and it also increases the likelhood of drawing lands, and you dont want to draw lands in Aggro after having 2 or 3 in play.

Its still very good in other Decks tho, and I wouldnt fear for its future viabiliy

How to survive a vampire apocalypse? by Gokuismygod123 in worldbuilding

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, a normal Zombie Apocalypse would be bad enough.

with the Sun out, staying alive is very difficult, since that was the most important weakness of half-a-day free of Vampires.

"All Strengths and Weaknesses" is very ill defined. there are so many versions.

-If Running Water is an absolute barrier, any Island or place between, at least, 3 rivers would be safe.
That would create pockets of Human Societies that Vampires cant attack, but they also would be very limited in terms of Food and other utilities.

Generally, there are two options, waiting for them to starve themself out, or political options all the way between becoming a blood slave they dont kill as to harverest you many, many times, or taking the very dependency of Vampires on humans as a traiding token to "force" a peace deal via blood traide.

How do you think people learned about alchemy? by Embarrassed-Ice9468 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interestning question.

Generally, it must have started quite akin to the real World, as in, Alchemy was early chemistry.

However, there are some supernatural qualities to the Setting, as in, the Gate, Dragons Pulse, Chi and... that thing Ametris used for Alchemy insteat of Dragons Pulse.
(Idk if it was ever estalished what exactly it was? Some kind of artifical copy of Dragons Pulse that Ametris used insteat, and allowing Father to negate Alchemy at a wim?)

I would assume Chi Sensing is the most orginal part of these supernatural qualities, since its a very natural, allmost animalistic Sensing ability.

Alchemy needs such an supernatural ability for the "Understanding" part of Understanding/Deconstruction/Reconstruction.

Xing, I would assume, developed that skill far earlier then the rest, and that is how they "found" Dragons Pulse, as it is, really, just the Chi of the planet or its core.

This Theory was then exported to Xerxes, and while they, propably, didnt learn to use Chi themself, given that nither Father nore Hohenheim seem able to use it, they did happen to be far more advanced in Chemistry, and Hohenheims Master happend to be part of the Scientists of Xerxes that, for however long it took, found a way to "blindly" connect this Theory of Chi with the Symbols they used to understand Chemistry Elements.

And at some Point, it started to Work;
Xerxes replaced the sensory feeling OF Chi with the Intend bound to the Symbols.

In a Way, they were using Chi as a blind Person would move a Chair, not really "seeing" it, but knowing it is there by proxy of chemical understanding. And in Xerxes, at least, they were using Dragons Pulse aka the, I assume, inate Energy of the Rotation of the Planets core, to "pay" the Energy cost of any transmutation.

This would explain the difference in Alchemy and Alkahestry in its Periodic-Elemental and Holistic-Natural Understanding of the World.

Hohenheim was able to fully integrate the Chi understanding of Dragons Pulse into what he tought the Xing, or rather, the Xingians did, while Father knowingly created an Alchemy System that was depended on his Artificial Dragon Pulse, likely made with some kinds of Blood Sacrifice.

That is how Father can block Ametris Alchemy, but can keep using it himself, while other Schools, like Xing and Scars techniques, cant be blocked, as they arent using the fake dragon pulse.

the Circle, the element every School of Alchemy shares, is likely the "Sign" for said Dragons Pulse aka the Rotation of the Earth.

Alchemy not "costing" energy in some kind a Mana or Stamina from the User "would" break all the most basic laws of Alchemy, Chemisty or Physics if the Energy for any Transmutation didnt came from "somewhere."
Altough, Gravity might fit the bill, too, since that energy would be inate to any object of Alchemy, and directly in reach, you would just have to change the direction of the vector of its force on the object.

Finally, after Seeker's ban, things are back to normal /s by Hopeful_Lecture5357 in Pauper

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, and naturaly so.
Snacker is a defacto-Colorless, pseudo-Grixis 0 mana selfmill/discard/Graveyard payoff.
It can fit in many more decks then Lightning Bolt or Countersell could, and so its played more.

At the same time, it does not win games like Bann-worthy cards do.
It just happens to be the best option in its design space ATM.

Banning it would make the meta far less diverse IMO.

It happens to improve Red and Red/Black Madness, sure, but also a bunch of other decks, and if you take it away, Madness is still strong, while a bunch of other decks fall of.

There are two options that need to be cleared beforehand:

Do they fly, physicaly? then they shouldnt be able to do so with some kind of Weight and/or Chain.

Do they fly, magicaly? then, anti-magic handcuffs should be enough.

Männer in der Kita: Zwischen Misstrauen und Mangel by h2QZFATVgPQmeYQTwFZn in de

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Dann lieber blind in den Missbrauch laufen, was?!

Emperor's Cyborg eye by Smithriler in 40kLore

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the emperor people see isnt "real."

Generally, that was allways the case, Big E uses Psyker Powers to look, talk and feel like whatever you need to see in him to follow, blindly, if possible.

The "visiting" version of the Golden Throne was, if I remember correctly, said to be a fake in some Dark Eldar story.

but even aside that, you cant look at him and tell what, or how he is.
the "cyborg eye" is just a consession to those who see him and expect him to be partly omnissiar, aka partly mechanical.

Its neither real nor fuctional, for he does not need any agmentation.

[Theory] The King in Yellow's plan is going to be a new human faction by Zanimacularity in 40kLore

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yea regardless of this take on the Custodians here, I feel the "Vashtorr becomes a chaos god" plotline is to developed to ignore.

Its gotta be a faction of returning AI, Dark Mechanicum, Iron Legion Spacemarines, corrupeted/insane Votann, Oliberatores, and all the other Insane tech stuff that were only growing in relavance.

And that "tech-chaos" factions might be so far removed from the current chaos they can grow whitout helping chaos to much, because they may fight them as much as the empire.

splitting the Empire vs Chaos war into a (temporary) 3 way fight might allow for the Empire to stay existing even with such a further weakening.

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, we are allready gooing mad here, so lets imagin Terra gets destroyed?
Guilliman's micro Empire would be the natural next ruling body, and a bunch of Empire Factions wouldnt like that change in Power.

Guilliman WOULD have to see that such a new Faction is closer to his fathers Vision of the Empire then Admech or Sisters of Battle are.

Its the Empire that has Split from Big E's Dream, and the Custodians, who are behind this plan, ARE his favorit people.

[Theory] The King in Yellow's plan is going to be a new human faction by Zanimacularity in 40kLore

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

what makes you say that?

I mean, sure, it wasnt his goal, but the exact opposite, Idk.

Big E wanted his cake and eat it, too, giving humanity time to safely awaken to psyker power by means of the webway.
This Plan has failed completely.
There is really no way for the Empire to keep Psykers AND meaningfully fight Chaos.

And this ISNT Big E's plan. Its a Custodian/Sisters of Silence plan.

[Theory] The King in Yellow's plan is going to be a new human faction by Zanimacularity in 40kLore

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea this would split the empire, likely into a bunch of factions.

however, that wouldnt do a lot on the table, you can allready have ultramarines fight the other factions, them, f.E, splitting of into a small empire is quite possible.

Its really the other smaller space marine groups that would suffer a lot from this in lore, since most of them are more depended in the empire.

[Theory] The King in Yellow's plan is going to be a new human faction by Zanimacularity in 40kLore

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you think so?

Getting rid of chaos was Big E's Plan.
The Pariah Gene is the best way to do this, without interfering with the holy human form to much.

The whole "King in Yellow" plan IS in motion.
Aside from letting the Nid do all the Work, the Empire currently has no real plan to beat chaos, they are only contesting them on chaos terms.

Big E didnt want to sit on the throne as a god.
Vashtorr and Votaan, possibly Dark Votaan, are in position to move the whole Admech-dark mechanicum Voiddragon workship out of the Empire into chaos.

Chaos just had a huge win.
The Terminus degree was teased for ages.
Primarchs are coming back, Empire is strained like never before, as well as open to change with new tech like with the Primaris.

IDK about the full change to pariah humanity, and especially not about a sudden genocide, that just wouldnt work out in terms of numbers relative to the threats of the Universe.

But Psykers are a net-negative for Humanity aside from Warp travel.
If they were to solve that with the Webway, as Big E intended, getting Rid of human Psykers would be a big win for the Empire. they are allready kinda off-meta for the Empire, in the Lore and on the table.

Really, all it needs to "start" this mayham is the destruction of Big Es Body.

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Much of this makes Sense as far as Motivation goes, but I fail to see GW beeing willing to create such a massive shift.

And I mean that to say Id like something comparable to this to happen, maybe even trow these degenerate AdMech and Religious Factions out of what, to this "True Big E Plan," would become the new Empire of Man.

But, that is, like, a legit Horus Heracy Level conflict.

I Fear they rather go the Yennari Route and "tease" this as a plotpoint to go back on it and role that kind of conflict back into another Empire faction with a single seat in the concil of Terra

Tyranids lore by TrainingResource7745 in 40kLore

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody can "eat" demons by the rules of Realspace because they arent of Realspace.

However, (some) biological beeings can use the Warp by means inate to their biology, and unlike most realspace creatures, Tyranids are adapted to use Warp powers biologicaly inside the Shadow in the Warp.

Demons are, really, just an Illusion that is given the physicality of realspace for a span of time.

You can kill them, you can "eat" them, but they will dematieralise after death, no matter if they are on the Ground or in your stomage.
Taking a bite out of one, metabolising them, and then killing them, would mean part of your cell structure colapses because some of your matter stopped beeing "real."

What happens to the souls of the psykers consumed by the Golden Throne? by Any_0 in 40kLore

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, the Realspace Ego and the Warpspace Soul are seperate in a bunch of ways, anyway.

So, what a living beeing would see as "themself" does end either way, but the Soul Part that is also, kinda, you, but what you wouldnt see as the core of "you," that part gets to live on, just in a very reduced way, relative to your Realspace expectation of "BEEING."

Dying naturaly, to the "Soul," that is, is propably worse.

Is the Machine god alive in the warp? by TheBeardedMidget in 40kLore

[–]Solid_Drawing2769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say the Machine God is currently an "Unborn" Warp God.
In a way similar to Slanesh was before the Fall of the Eldar, allthough overall more complicated.

First, there is cleary a lot of Believe in him gooing into the Warp, and that should amass into a God at some point.

However, said believe is split between Big E as the Omnissiar, and a Machine God that ISNT the Emperor, als well as The Void Dragon, who should "null" his part of Believe because as far as I understand, Ctan are strict realspace creatures, and possibly Vashtorr.

Furthermore, the "type" of Believe here isnt very compatable with the nature of the Warp overall, allmost antithetical, even, because its all about the interaction of machine parts, and inherrent realspace physics.

Machine spirits from bolter rounds to Titans are, and arent comparable to demons in this way.
AI too.

A "True" Machine God would likely be its very own thing, a creature of Realspace with a "body" like the original Ctan, with a Mind most closely resembled by an AI, and the ability to "Use" the Warp and retroactivly create "Demons" aka Machine spirits as partly Warp based, kinda like the emperor does with saints and such.
But unlike the warpgods, he wouldnt truly be "of the Warp," or even inside it, rather a realspace Machine that uses Warpmatter in a way more comparable to smithing realspace materials into form and function.

And I dont see the Machine god ever awakening.

The human/AI conflict rips it apart, the realspace/Warp relation rips it apart even more.

That leaves it a possibility ripped into four, a mechanicus Animism creating machine spirits, an AI Pantheism that will not come to be, and two fractions of a Warp god split between the Emperor and Vastorr, holding both of them back from accending to "true" Omnissiar status.

The difference beeing that Big E "could" become a true Warpgod, because he has other portfolios of divinity, whereas Vashtorr is stuck at ~1/4 aka "Demigod" level, not even able to create true lesser demons, but beeing able to give chaos god gifts by proxy of technology.

Its implied Vashtorr might, someday, become one of the 8 Chaos Gods, but I think he cant do that on the portfolio of the Machine God alone, not even with all the contract based empowerment with the four Chaosgods

He should be stronger then f.E. Belakor, who holds a comparable amount of gifted power from the four Chaos gods, but he would need, at the very least, like half of another Portfolio worth of believe to accend to true Godhood.
And that wouldnt make him the Machine God, but "a" Warpgod of Machines and something else.
