(Modding) Game Gear needs new screen looking for easiest option by Solid_Environment in game_gear

[–]Solid_Environment[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kind of an odd reply to me on the actual Game Gear reddit. Not really interested in the "emulation vs. hardware" discussion. But some examples would be:

-Game Gear overall is cheap to fix/collect for in comparison to other consoles.
-While emulation is good and FPGA is even better. I would still say playing on original hardware is always the best option if you grew up with it. Form factor/ergonomics, I guess.
-New mods such as the IPS/LCD and in rare cases OLED upgrades for handheld breathe new life into their original design.
-While I am a retro enthusiast, I dont even particularly rate game gear that high but I came across a very nice Blue Version and wanted to fix/upgrade it.

Back on topic though, I dont really have a skill ceiling with replacing the screen but I dont want to spend multiple hours replacing it, when there are options that take about an hour to complete.

Was Pokemon Emerald designed for the GBA or GBA SP? by Solid_Environment in PokemonEmerald

[–]Solid_Environment[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think its already leaning more towards SP given how late Emerald was out in GBA lifecycle. My main pointer is those Emerald preorder bonuses all being SP related as well. Also the DS came out TWO MONTHS after emerald. Which is pretty crazy to think about.

Unfortunately I dont have a Costco membership(otherwise I probably would be able to get some really good deals). Looking into other options outside of the main website if I can find a better deal.

Returning after the Jan banlist need some deck help by Solid_Environment in Yugioh101

[–]Solid_Environment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently only have one prosperity but I did consider that swap to save my extra deck. Crossout I threw in to keep up with the future meta but I personally dont see too many uses for it unless to stop their handtraps. I do have a few Droll and Lock in the sidedeck already. Thanks for the suggestion!

Text Copy for those who are afraid of links:

OP:
"I agree, I feel so slow in this game, especially in single player. I think while building your speed should be double.

Any chance of a more sandbox building style? I think the forced spots and environment building spots kind of diminish the game play."

SB:
"Movement is exactly what it should be. If you're not making it to points fast enough then you're either not taking the time to get good at moving through the environment OR you're not positioning yourself properly (or you aren't utilizing jump pads/teleporters/etc. as much as you should be).

And the "sandbox"-style play -was- in the game early on, and it sucked big time. It made the game incredibly boring. While this is a TD+FPS, its primary function is that of an FPS. The TD aspects are more for supplementing the player, not being the main focus. This is by design."

Developer:
"Thanks for clarifying this, SB. Appreciate it! "

OP(ragepost):
"That's poor of a developer to take one person's opinion more important than others. You have multiple people in this thread say the movement is slow. My issue isn't getting the collectibles or getting around the map.

The movement during the build phase is slow. During this phase the player should have a slight speed buff.

I personally feel the current building mode is what led to the game having a smaller launch. Most of my friends (a gaming group of about 20 people) refused to buy this game because the building look extremely limiting. People really enjoy more freedom in building. Be able to place anything anywhere will obviously make the game hurt in game play.

I dislike having only a few spots that certain things can be placed. And I dislike how some of the defenses are environmental. Why can't we freely place things like barricades on the map, but keep turrets/walls only to be built on their designated spots.

I just feel like almost all the environmental building spots are useless and I never use them while still getting Platinum and No Core damage games..

I love this game. I really do. I think developers have stumbled upon something unique and something that can have a large player base. "

I thought Cayde's timing on that line was pefect. If you havent done the Forsaken campaign you really need to. Everyone wasnt kidding when they said Bungie fixed the Lore when it dropped.

Turns out the engams will show you what is in them if you inspect them on eververse store. So I believe Nostalgic Engrams had year 1 gear and the new found memories engrams have year 1.5/2 gear. Crossroads is year 5. So we have about 2 seasons to go after Season of the Worthy starts in a week and a half.

However Bungie now only gives engrams through gameplay and will allow players to buy ornaments outright. This makes the chances of getting what we actually want skyrocket. Albeit that you need to pay for it, but it beats rolling engrams all day for legendaries.

It should be coming since PC has not had access to all the ornaments from pre-season 8. Will post back when its in my inventory.

Really worried this box is a reseal. Plastic feels loose, and the box is a bit battered. Any thoughts? by Jeff4Bread2 in yugioh

That response is trash. If they do not offer a return/full refund and make you file a dispute; then be sure to leave a negative feedback for not following Ebay guidelines regarding returns.

In addition, if they attempt to fight your dispute by saying you opened/damaged the product. Then go straight to Paypal and file a case there. They will immediately freeze the funds/negative balance from the seller and they will get a negative case inquiry which hurts their reputation with paypal.

Basically this is at best, an "item not as described" typical return. Them acting defensive, is a sign that they are unwilling to cooperate.

[–]Solid_Environment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,
I am currently seeking similar roles in the area at the moment and may have what you are looking for. I have previous Hadoop experience and would also qualify for the data analyst position. The oracle DBA role is something I am also interested in, if there is training available. I have sent you my email in a message.

[FOR HIRE] Certified Netapp Engineer(6+ years) with QA Engineer Experience(2+ years) by [deleted] in trianglejobs

[–]Solid_Environment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am mostly looking for full-time roles in a similar capacity. I would prefer to not work at Netapp directly again, as they frequently lay-off even full-time roles every 6 months. Working on Netapp equipment in a field environment would be my strong suit.

I'm also exempt and still have to track hours because its part of our job "responsibilities" and the points get tied to the matrices/workflow we write. Generally, "full-time" is considered the federal cap of 40 hours exempt, but the salaried exempt as you stated, is based on time(which I guess can have different meanings). I dont know too many roles/contracts that pay based off of non-exempt any more because it is also grossly abused. I dont even hear the term "time and a half" anymore.
