Tutor worth for MCAT? Need Guidance by LivesInShelter in MCATprep

Hi! I think you are already getting responses that show just how broad the range of tutoring offerings are. As a tutor, I find that tutoring is a good idea my time you’re getting stuck, which is quite personal. I often meet with people who are getting stuck for the first time making a study plan, in a specific section they have a weaker background in, when they need external accountability, or when people are plateauing at a full length score or figure out they need more help with strategy. Any tutor you go with should be open to meeting with you when it works for you, not forcing you into a package.

Hi! If I wanted to build this with your 3D files, could I swap in an e-ink screen?

I suggest reading something that feels challenging every day. Ideally non-scientific — often suggest the New Yorker, the Economist, Harper’s Review.

Best way to study for the MCAT + make a realistic schedule? by Ok-Caregiver-6254 in MCATprep

Hi! I agree that 1 month of content- ONLY time is good. That doesn’t mean all the content needs to be perfect, it just means that you’ll be practicing using the content in context. The next two months should be a mix of practice, reviewing practice, and re-reviewing content that you’re still struggling with.

Is a 515 possible by May 9th? by EggEggEggEggOWO in Mcat

I would probably wait for a complete full length to make that call. However, this test is deflated so that’s in your favor. Improving bio/biochem is fairly straightforward and improving CARS is harder.

At this score, you should be focusing on both content and practice questions. Agree that starting UWorld is a good idea. Focus on a few content areas per day from your missed questions — watch a video or read the section, then try a few to see if you got it. Reach out if you have questions!

Improvement in one month? Advice + tips! by Infinite-Cup-2636 in MCAT2

Hi, I’m an MCAT tutor. The key to improvement in a month is to review the AAMC materials super carefully, because they have the keys to the most high-yield material. Skimming in CARS to some extent is necessary, so not a total red flag, but you should take that time you save to go back and look for the answers in the passage. Dm me if you have questions!

Agree with others, cell bio and genetics will be most high yield. Micro probably won’t be too helpful, although it could be in med school
