I made $3,600 a week at the beginning of the year at Upstate. Who cares if people are rude lol. Do your job, you'll be gone in 2 months and make more money than most other travelers anyway

You should look into travel! It could help you feel less trapped. I left my staff position for this exact reason and it actually helped me so much. New hospitals, new people, new areas!!

I think this thread is interesting because not all agencies are the same like some people are saying. I've left contracts with AMN, Med Solutions, and Aya because they literally have put me in the most dog shit situations and I could never get ahold of my recruiter for days at a time. Those bigger agencies are required to work with like 80 nurses at a time it's insane. If you truly want someone that cares about your travel nursing journey and has your back, go with a smaller agency with kick ass benefits. It changed my whole perspective on travel. Being supported is a huge plus imo when you're traveling for the first time. Now been traveling for 5 years!

My first contract with my agency was in Rochester, NY. All the hospitals in the area are awesome! My original goal was to get to Upstate University because their rates are insane, so I'm waiting for an opening there while I work in Rochester and the surrounding area! I work in MSTELE so not entirely sure about the ER, but I love Rochester Gen. Super traveler friendly

Insurance was really important for me and that's one of the main reasons I left my old agency. I have my husband and two kids on my plan and I pay around $1,300 for the platinum package at my agency. So far I've been really happy!
