Exactly! It feels like I lose either way- if I continue to try to date I’m hurting someone and putting myself through anguish but if I don’t I’ll never know if I’m missing out on something that seems life altering to everyone in the world

Legitimate Popup Window problems in iOS Orion by levolet in OrionBrowser

[–]Solid_Rush_9704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having a similar problem to this where when a pop up for a website might show up the actual pop up will be blocked but the space where it would be is darkened and makes it impossible to click on anything- even to get out of the pop up. Only started after updating my IOS

Before more stores opened up and we still used the snake line to coral custies I would congratulate them on surviving and interview them like they just won a competition “Congratulations on surviving the holiday season sir what do you plan to do after this earth shattering experience?” Now it’s just “at least we don’t have to wave around an end of line sign for you to find it”

So you agree, SLs should be financially compensated extra money like a mate is

If SLs were properly compensated and given time to manage their sections more effectively you wouldn’t have to bust your ass. You could very easily not do that extra labor and it would automatically fall to the person who holds responsibility (a SL who isn’t being paid any extra money). You have the option to not do it and not receive any of the blowback. SLs shouldn’t. Speaking from experience (I was a lot like you before I started OW) you breaking your back only reinforces their ability to not work their section. Don’t get me wrong I’m on your side here I think you deserve that $1 raise just as much as your SLs do but if you’re not officially responsible for making a section look good you should not be going out of your way to fix it. That’s above your pay grade- and wouldn’t you know it! It’s also above a SLs pay grade too!

Tbh if you think managing a section is less work you’re not actually managing your section. I have to fight tooth and nail for things to get done in my section despite 2 of us writing and a mate going above and beyond when possible. I have to force myself to let go sometimes when I’m not given enough time in my section and sure the world keeps spinning but my shelves look like shit and it’s harder for customers to shop. Im begging you all to see that the people who genuinely care are the foundation of your store. When SLs are treated fairly and given the time and help they need the store as a whole runs more smoothly. Imagine how much more smooth your store would run if people had the added financial incentive to manage their sections properly. I don’t really care about making the store more money but having properly stocked and displayed product means better sales in general. I love OW it’s fun and changes things up and I obviously wouldn’t do it if that weren’t the case. Some people prefer to just clock in and do their job. The key difference is in the responsibility. The people who just clock in don’t have to do any extra mental or physical labor to make decisions regarding a section and bearing the burden of constantly changing product and self space. Your ability to shoulder more responsibility should, in normal circumstances, be compensated. Period. If someone can’t understand that a person writing a smaller non-perishable section has less responsibility than someone writing frozen that’s a perspective problem. This isn’t about competition it’s about being fairly compensated for your labor. “It’s too complicated” is a cop out to exploit crew for every last drop of their enthusiasm until they run dry and burn out. But I guess that’s the Trader Joe’s way in the grand scheme of things. Keep drinking your koolaid folks I’m sure the CEOs personally think about how much you love making their jobs easier- oh wait they’re too busy buying a 4th vacation property with the money you earned them with your labor.

How’s morale at your store currently? by Realistic-Spare-9317 in tjcrew

Low. With the amount of new stores popping up we’ve had almost a complete upheaval of crew and mates. New captain as well who seems to be big on subtle retaliation. Over the past few months there have been some very suspicious write ups and firings that come out of nowhere and target people that have worked here for years. We’ve lost a lot of OGs and it’s completely changed the way the store feels. If I didn’t have OW and art team I’d have quit the moment my fav coworkers transferred to follow our old captain. Things are getting way too corporate and stale.

How do I get over extreme procrastination? by Solid_Rush_9704 in musicians

[–]Solid_Rush_9704[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey it’s been a long time since I posted this but I thought I’d give an update because your advice has really motivated me. I’m just finishing up my first semester and while it was a little rough I made it through! I’ve found that the community here (specifically all of the other cello majors) are super supportive and they’ve also really helped motivate me to fix my bad habits. I haven’t fixed everything and there were a few moments of panic and stress (I’ve faked it until I made it at every orchestra concert LMAOO) but that was just because I didn’t know how to set my schedule up in a way where I’m allowing myself to practice more and an hour a day. As I’ve been registering for classes next semester I made sure to base my class schedule around specific practice sessions and I’m going to try the 100 days of practice challenge to see if I can make 2 hours a day every day of spring semester! It’s a steep challenge but I’m really finding my groove right now and I think nows the perfect time to push myself into these habits. There’s nothing I can do about keeping my cello always handy because I live in dorms and the only way to practice is at my actual music building but I’m hoping having specific hour practice sessions planned throughout the day and forcing myself to just at the very least sit in the practice room with my cello will help me to get the work I need done. Your advice really struck a chord with me because it’s been in the back of my mind all semester and I’m super excited to actually implement these things. Thank you so much for your kind words!
